I have looked into doing a supercharger. However, from my research youāre looking at 10k including install, which is far more expensive than a re-gear. I can do gears for $2400.
yes, Iām aware that I can switch to manual mode and choose whatever gear that I want. However, I bought an automatic...
Iām with you on this. Iād much rather be cruising at an RPM that will hold overdrive other than the trans constantly down shifting to make up for not enough HP/TQ and that is exactly what the JT does. I still have the factory tires and 3.73ās and it constantly shifts back and forth through 6th...
This is not true. Heavy D has this exact setup and his motor isnāt screaming down the road. And he has stated that his mileage has actually improved.
I know a few above have stated that 8th isnāt really supposed to be used etc.. However, by re-gearing with lower gears, it will make 8th a lot...
Thank you for clarifying the chart. Please understand that I wasnāt trying to provide false info. I only posted it hoping someone would be familiar with it because I wasnāt sure what platform it was for or where the calculations came from.
Iāve been going by this chart I found online. You have 4.56ās with a 33 inch tire and youāre running 2150 RPMs at 70mph. According to this chart, you should be running at 2698 RPM, unless this chart is calculating everything for 7th gear and not 8th because it is considered āoverdriveā...
Now thatās what Iām talking about! Big thanks!!! Of course Iām running the slightly shorter tire, so Iāll be running a little bit higher, but thatās not bad at all.
See Case in point, you fall into the group that is perfectly happy with the 3.73 set up and I think thatās great. However, if you could magically flip a switch and have a 4.56 gear, I donāt think you would ever switch back to 3.73.
I appreciate the input. However, I just bought this truck and I do not plan on getting rid of it anytime soon. I thought about the diesel but I make very short trips to and from work and around town and that can be bad on a diesel motor. I wouldāve really enjoyed that low end grunt though...
Hey, thanks for the reply. Looking forward to your update. ?
Mine constantly goes back and forth between 7th and 8th on the highway and it drives me nuts. I know a gear swap would definitely fix this issue. The 4.30 could be an option for me too since I plan to keep the 32ā tire. I just want...
I get your point. I can honestly say that I will not be doing any rock crawling. I do mostly in town driving with some occasional highway when I go see my folks that live about 40 minutes away.
This topic does seem to be very subjective. There are many out there that are perfectly happy with...
Why would you not recommend it though? I think all JTās shouldāve come come with at least 4.10 gears. This 3.6 L does not put out a whole lot of torque down low and swapping for a lower gear set will definitely help in that aspect. However, because of the expense, I think swapping from a 3.73...
I would really like to get some feedback from you regarding the 4.56 gear swap. I have 3.73ās in mine and Iām having the same issues you were. Iād really like to re-gear so I can have some better power down low. This is my daily and I plan on staying with a 32ā tire but will probably jump...
Hi Dave, I appreciate the input. Thank you for sharing the info regarding the splash guards. I can see where the dual kit would cause issues there.
I understand that Iām dealing with a V6 and it will never have that V8 sound. However, Iād like to make this V6 sound as good as it can and I...
Hey, I really appreciate you taking the time to reply. You are definitely right about sound preference being super subjective. Everybody has their own taste or expectations. However, the video you posted does sound a bit different than my single exit trail edition. I called AWE and the rep...
Hey everybody,
This is my first post. Iām brand new to the Jeep community. Just bought my first jeep which is a 2023 gladiator. Loving it so far. I wanted a little bit more noise out of the exhaust so I purchased the AWE trail edition. I have to say that Iām not 100% satisfied but it...
