Hi - new old guy here. Instead of buying the black out emblems, go to Lowe's or HD and buy the spray plasiti-coat stuff. Then tape an area around the emblem and coat it at least 4 times. Overspray on paint will come right off with a microfiber towel. You can google how to do it. Works great...
