  1. Rails or rack for RTT mount on Smartcap?

I used three Frontrunner cross bars for my RTT, which worked perfectly well. They replaced the RSI crossbars, which deflected under load. Fit perfectly with the correct hardware provided from Frontrunner in the factory RSI tracks. Good luck!
  2. 37 vs 38’s and 4.88 vs 5.13

My son has a 2021 JLU Rubicon on 37's...running 5:13 gears and loves on and off road, especially as he tows an overland trailer to set up basecamp, prior to adventuring. I am running a 2021 JT Rubicon set up for overlanding with a Four-Wheel Campers Project M topper...on the heavy side with...
  3. Farewell and a genuine thank you!

Thanks so much for the info. I'm currently running EVO 4.5" heavy duty read springs with my Metal Cloak Game Changer 3.5 lift / front springs. Love the ride / trail articulation with the weight but they are pretty maxed. They just aren't cutting it with the weight. Most appreciated!
  4. Farewell and a genuine thank you!

Best wishes and hope your next vehicle brings you as much enjoyment and many memories made. Out of curiosity, what springs were you running to support the weight of the Scout camper? I am not satisfied with mine currently and looking to change...moved to a Four Wheel Campers Project M recently...
  5. TPMS unavailable after tire swap

There were two types of sensors installed by Jeep; depending on your year and date of production, you may need the others installed. My son's JLU and my JT had the same issue when new wheels / tires installed at America's Tire / Discount Tire on our 2021's. They made the change and all was...
  6. skid plates metalcloak

A bit ago, I made a poor choice while navigating a sierra rock trail and badly high centered my overloaded JT, which had three of four wheels / tires fully suspended feet off the ground as I inadvertently rolled onto a large boulder the size of a meteor. My original plan to appease my wife...
  7. Key Fob - Temporarily Not Working

Had a similar situation when camping in the Mohave Desert in cold weather last year. Both my JT and son's JLU were dead in the water the next morning. Key fob would not function until warmed up...then worked fine after. We replaced the key fob batteries and all was back in order. Now keep...
  8. Just got quoted $3700 for 4.88 regear. Getting my chain yanked?

I recently had a re-gear completed in OCT 2024 at approximately 45K on the odometer; out the door excluding tax was $2668, using factory Dana-Spicer gears, replaced axle bearings and new axle seals. I can't speak highly enough of Dan Taylor at Taylor Axle Works in Placerville CA. A small one...
  9. Rear frame support and stiffener

    Most appreciated! Thanks.
  10. Rear frame support and stiffener

Thanks for sharing. What was the cost of the brace kit and expected lead time? I have been following and looking to complete as a preventive measure as routinely I run a bit over gross vehicle weight as equipped for trips. Most appreciated.
  11. Z Locker Controller Failure

Recently mine failed as well. Upon closer inspection, one of the thin wires had pulled from the connector. I had to pull the connector apart and reattach the wire to the pin, re-connect. all appears functioning and back in order. For the cost of the bypass harness, I am hopeful it lasts a...
  12. "Do I REALLY need to re-gear for 37s?" - Yes. Yes you do.

I'm presently running at 2021 JTR set kited out / set up for overlanding, which is on the heavy side exceeding GVR 80 % of the time on 37's with factory 4:10's with a Taser . I never see 8th gear, routinely am in between 5-7 gear at 70-75mph. Hit a hill, wind or heat and she drops to 4th, etc...
  13. Good Shop in the Placerville/Sac area??

Cloak Works 4x4 located in Placerville has done great work on my JT and my sons JLU. 916-635-4900. Good luck!
  14. Gladiator crabs on 4WD Hi

As stated, make sure traction control is off to ensure full power to all wheels while in 4-WD; otherwise this may account for a lack of power at each wheel as the computer senses the tire / wheel slipping and is trying to maintain control. Just a thought.
  15. Request: 35s with a Lift?

Running Metalcloak 3.5" Game Changer lift with 35's. Very happy with setup overall. Lot's of flex and great highway ride when slabbing to different locations. Still running factory 4:10 gears... may move to 37's but not without a gear change in the future. Not in a hurry as this setup has...
  16. Which look better? Honest opinions

Both look good...albeit, my vote is factory. Good luck with your decision!
  17. 35's and Rubicon Rims

I'm running 35 x 12.5's on stock rims with no issues what so ever. Falken Wildpeak MT's, 35x12.50r17. Purchased and installed by America's Tire with full warranty. I've been very pleased on and off road.
