….and HELLO BDS NX2 shocks! After 73k kms (45k miles) on my 21 JTR, the wife and I were done with the floating, bouncing and just being scrambled in the cab kind of ride on the fox 2.0’s.
Last weekend we had a great time at the Alberta Outdoor (overland) Expo and one vender caught my attention...
Oh ya, almost forgot…
While you’re in there with the rear diff cover off, don’t forget to clean off the locker sensor magnet and inspect the sensor for oil intrusion. There’s one Torx screw holding it in place over the magnet. It’s easy to see oil in the sensor through the light coloured...
I can say for sure the gasket is reusable. As far as quantity, it holds about 1.5q each. Is it exactly 3 you need?? Probably get 4 and you’re good. If the fluid specs are different for both, you’d get 2 for the back and 2 for the front. That’s what I had to do for my 21 JTR. The back on mine is...
Still camping at the Alberta Overland Expo west of Edson, Alberta. 2 days in of 3. The vendors, beer gardens and people are all amazing. We are coming back next year!
Careful with the good ol’ chemical GOOF OFF that contains xylene.
The safe Goof Off is the “green” environmentally friendly kind. Also floss works good like fishing line too. I’d also try the hair dryer first.
These AGM (absorbent glass mat) batteries also need an AGM charge system, just in case you didn’t know. It was a detail I missed when I first clamped on a charger on mine.
Hopefully clearing it for good is just as simple as seating the fuses. My 21 JTR fuses were loose and all needed to be pushed down. I did that back in 21 and now jump ahead to now, I upgraded the batteries and while the fuse tray was out, the fuses were loose again, so pushed them all in again...
Wouldn’t 3m wrap work to seal it? It’s the clear stuff they place on your hood, pillars, bottom foot and a half of the truck to prevent rock chips. They also did my head lights. It would seal over the crack I would think.
I’m one of those that spent time considering a duel battery setup thinking this was necessary but I’m now realizing it isn’t for the wife and I and the one component (65L fridge/freezer needing a power source). I’m not powering anything else and make coffee on the stove. I can see our camping...
I completely agree to the whole “jackery” and solar setup which I’ll have up and running for next year and divert away from the power/water provincial sites for more of that raw and secluded camping. As this year winds down for us we will be around places that have power…. Accept for the Alberta...
We picked up our first fridge/freezer, did the rear seat delete and fit in a plywood floor (almost complete). Upgraded the batteries.
The fridge unit comes with two wires. One for the 12v cigarette plug and the other for the 110v plug. My question is if the unit is plugged in to either of these...
I would say if nothing was done, the stats on misfires would remain the same. If we are seeing a down tick in these mechanical issues, somethings been down. Hence I call it an “upgrade” what ever that looks like. If the internals of the 22 to 23 3.6’s are different to address the misfire issue...
