We had 4 tire sizes represented on this trail. 33's, 35's, 37's, 38's... it is a 3 out of 5 trail rating by the locals... mostly for three or four tough spots!
I'll be on the rubicon and then coming back and catching the new Badge of Honor trail in Nevada... back to Montana on July 11th. So- depending on how your tril works out... I might not be in the area when you are passing through! From the 2nd to 11th we are doing our little route down through...
Death Valley- I will be back there and spend more time! bring your own gas... lol. The size and landscape and views were really amazing. I have lots of ice and snow covered mountains and running creeks and rivers, with green and trees... but the death valley experience was really "new" stuff to...
I have been told that the cages can come apart and some people are recommending changing to old style roller bearings instead of the ball and cage stuff... if you have it rebuilt, check into it. I think the bearings that fit are the same that they put in the Ford bronco rear end. I would thing...
My wife and I took a trip that was 30 days overlanding. We had about 1300 miles in gravel and off road. Camped about 25 of those days, cooking and eating out of the truck. We went from Montana through Wyoming (flaming gorge), then edge of Colorado (Dinosaur NP), south to Moab for three days...
I think the two of the listed trails are on the high end of a stock rubicon- just for GC. You can always go, if the trail gets too much, turn back and wait at the bottom for the group to return. on Mckelvey we had two stock Jeeps turn back, and two modified jeeps turn back that were on 37's...
I do have videos of: Boulder basin, Caruthers lake, Wicks tunnel, McKelvy Lake, Goose lake. This will give you an idea of determining if your 4x4 can do certain trails on the route. Like here is a short clip from McKelvey in one of the rock gardens... it shows the trail conditions leading to the...
If you are talking about the Idaho BDR... That's another thing... Lol. We have too many thoughts going on here. I think if you he BDR's are designed for stock rigs and you should be fine. I thought you were talking about the other trails mentioned to another poster.
The bottom road in the video yes. As far as Goose Lake, McKelvey lake, Caruthers lake... That would be a " not advised" I have videos of the other trails being spoken about... There is a mix that your truck would be great on, and some where it would go beyond what the truck is designed for.
Let me know where you will be.... Check out Dark horse lake, ajax lake, Magruder corridor.... For southwest Montana trail options... South Central near the park I recommend Goose Lake near Cooke city... There are all different levels of skill needed. The Pryor's have a great few trails... It...
Right! And its a perfect match.... I don't know if you can still get that color, but it was a deal when I got it, probably because its not too popular!
With warm weather soem areas we are used to seeing closed with snow in January have been unseasonablely open.... so this was a fun trip just me and my wife!
Evo lift (4.5 rear- front 2.5 with 1 inch spacer) 38 inch tires. I have the rake in the back because most of the summer I have an RTT and 350lbs of gear in the back. Keeps it level on the trails!
