I've had the aev kit on my diesel for a little over a year. It's a night and day improvement over stock and totally redeems the truck. The bottoming issue is cured, and it's a hoot drifting around roundabouts. These trucks should have came this way.
That dude was really hard to watch and wrong about everything. ZF Friedrichshafen AG is out of Friedrichshafen Germany not Austria. The transmissions in the gas models are literally built in Kokomo,Indiana at a Chrysler plant under license. The diesel comes with a 100k mile warranty.
I think the JT is nearing its end as well. They killed the best and only viable engine for the platform. I was just thinking that the other day... I definitely wouldn't buy one now. The diesel was what sold me to begin with. I also have no interest in electric vehicles.
I would definitely take a GW over an Escalade. Cadillacs styling doesn't do it for me at all anymore, and quite frankly the jeep has a superior powertrain, and the infotainment system isn't even in the same league.
My other similar anythings have not been so piss poor. I would have definitely sprung for the proper transfer case if it was available on any of the lower trims, we got the limited.
My 21 GC-L with the 3.6 gets lowww 20s on the interstate at 75ish. I'm guessing due to the full time 4x4 transfer case?
I was pretty disappointed, i figured it would atleast match the 23-24 the Town and Country we had the family in before got.
I felt the same when i ordered mine.. until i tried to make it a diesel. Ended up with a willys trim entirely for the included painted fenders and lack of the gaudy red or orange. The stock suspension on all of them with the diesel is garbage.
GM is not in a good position anymore. The ZF 8 speed is by far the best automatic transmission. Chrysler bought a license to build it, Gm built their own by copying zf's work and getting caught violating multiple patents. (And doing a half-assed job at that).
My grand cherokee L didn't come with a cover. 3.6s have alot of valve train noise, and it's definitely noticeable. The covers are surprisingly cheap to order and worth the money.
It's the same difference as the sport vs sport s. The regular willys has power windows and locks and a radio from this century with automatic climate controls.
