I'm in the same boat. I have the LSD in the rear and really don't want to give it up for the snowy roads, rain slick, general driving stuff. But want/need a locker to do "more".
Thinking an E locker up front just fills in the missing spot.
I just set mine to Aux 3, I didn't want mine to come on automatically w reverse.
You just run a hot off the aux 3, run it under the truck down the frame to the light, there is a ground right by the spare tire heat shield.
When I need/want them I hit 3.
The real question is, does he have a long enough extension cord to get to the moon?

I would pull the aux battery all together, or would have when I was replacing the battery. No reason to carry the dead weight.

Take that subtract your gvwr found on your door jamb thast will tell you what you pay load is.
Then address you wife wife purse tools, toung weight of thew trailer...
