That's the hard part about branching out with prepping type stuff. Theres a bunch of newbies out there who are clueless and loud about it, and the truely knowledgeable ones, are suspicious and keep the knowledge to themselves lol I've just been trying to match my setup to what I saw set up in...
One thing I miss about wrenching when I was a kid, was all of the junkyard upgrades available for my various rides. I put a ford 8.8 rear axle in my XJ. I swapped a '74 307 small block and a Posi rear end into my 85 El Camino. and the list goes on...Guys are putting Cadillac ATS brake calipers...
This is the exact kind of input I'm looking for. We had an ice storm come through southwest oklahoma in 2009. The city had no power for almost a month. Thankfully, we had a gas stove. That kept us with warm water. I won't buy another house without a working fireplace. I keep my gas tanks...
I have the Pintlers on mine. HOWEVER, I bought the JK version which has a offset of +10. Much better. The updated pintler version was made to keep the rim at stock location for the JL/JT.
From AEV's website:
"The AEV Jeep JK pintler wheels for sale will also fit on the JL Wrangler, but they...
WOW, the yawn factor just went up. I was hoping for a Renegade sized (and priced), trail rated 4x4 I could put my daughter in. Nope. I guess I'll go back to looking at a TJ for her....
EXACTLY. I've got an RV that's stored on top of a hill, so the only fear there is if the whole mountain falls. But we live in a river city that's downstream of a dam. We've got an electrical plant AND oil refinery all downstream of it. That would be bad for the whole region if that oil...
Our church sent a group down to help with the cleanup in North Carolina. The devastation is on par with any war zone I've ever seen. Good Lord. All of that is probably the best justification for all the money and time spent for the overlanding/prepping crowd. Except for those bug out...

I wish I'd kept my MJ too. She was beat to hell though. Not a straight panel on her. Except the hood, but I'd drilled so many 4" holes in it, it was swiss cheese lol
What's your favorite throwback pics of rigs you used to have (or still do)?
This is my 98 XJ. Still have her. 4.5" Rusty's lift, bumper and sliders. Ford Disc 8.8 rear end. re-geared to 4.56 locked front and rear on 35" Goodyear MT/Rs. I need to do an SYE and get a new driveshaft for her...
Well, sorta. we were talking to PiSHop.us (we bought it from them) following their troubleshooting instructions. It was a fresh OS for a Pi 5. I was under the impression a Pi4 couldn't handle it as well, but it did, so who knows. They were as confused as we are. So they've told us to send...
Worn where? Inside or outside? or are you getting cupping or diagonal striping? A tire out of balance will cause weird wear as well.
Alignment won't hurt, it will catch worn ball joints. And worn ball joints on one side will cause wear on just one tire.
