The guy that plumbed in my slip tank said he’d installed that system into a gladiator in Edmonton, Alberta. I’ve been after him trying to get in touch with the owner for reviews and thoughts on our cold winter climate cause I’d love this system in my JTRD cause I tow a 6,000 lbs camper for...
Fair enough. My garage door was set up to leave about 5” of the door below the frame when I bought my house. I tweaked it to open up above the frame and had much more room. Not everyone knows they can do this.
Maybe a Stealth Mount is the best solution, and adjust your garage door to maximize your headroom. Or set up a quick release system and remove it every time. I have to do that
is that measurement in your garage door, the height to the frame or the bottom of your door hanging below the frame when open? I’m asked cause you may be able to squeeze another inch or two by adjusting the stop position when open allowing the door to open slightly further than it currently is.
I always put the face of my rim facing down underneath, the wheel remained fairly clean and it was never an issue of too much extra time to put it on. The benefit of longer tire life between purchases far outweighed the Fobs to me.
Additionally, I contacted Mickey Thompson and they sent me this...
I had five 37” Mickey Thompson Baja Boss’ on my old 2020 Gaser JTR and drove over 56,000 Miles on them. They were getting worn down and likely could’ve got another 5,000 miles, but traded the 2020 in for ac2022 JTRD. Will be upgrading new to tires for it this spring, probably MT Baja Boss’ again!
This is true, but if you’re blown tire is not repairable, then you’re in a bit of a situation where you now have only three tires that are at a far less diameter than the fourth and that can cause problems or accelerate wear on all four tires and driveline.
The other benefit is that if you ever blow one tire, your spare is far more equally worn down and will not cause any added strain on driveline components when added full time into a four tire rotation at that time. If that happens, the new spare tire would only get that, a spare! I wouldn’t...
Oh the Bluetooth connector. I didn’t know what that it was called a MicroPod.
An air dryer would likely be a good solution. I’m kind of surprised the company hasn’t considered adding one as an option for northern climates.
For the people commenting here that they think the engine is the limiting factor and being worried about pulling max weight (6,000 lbs on JTD), why is the towing capacity of a Ram 1500 Eco Diesel 12,000 lbs +? These diesel engines are work horses, that’s why they’re used in commercial transport...
Interesting. I only installed my iDash in August, and it didn’t show that, flashing back and forth, until the DPF filter fucked up during the last 5-6 weeks.
Oh shit, not to worry you… My truck was showing a bit of a manic regen status, showing Regen, Passive, Regen, Passive… now I’ve had the DPF Sensor replaced, and they’ve ordered a N0X sensor and new DPF Filter, approximately $4,000 CAD in warranty parts and no idea how much $$$ in labor. Is your...
I live in Edmonton and drive through Canadian winters for work all over western Canada. Have you considered adding an inline air dryer system? I’m unfamiliar with the Mopar Micropod, what is it, is it OEM on all our trucks or just the JTD’s?
Yeah there really isn’t clear explicit instructions for setting up your iDash. I did find this and it was helpful to navigate these selections! Your Welcome for those have not found this yet, it definitely helped me!
I gave the Banks iDash and when I first set up the gauge set, I was reading 100% too. However that was the wrong selection to monitor. When your engine is working it’s at 100% in that one measurement. I found the correct one to monitor after done fiddling around and even set up the alert to...
If you’re willing to listen, read on. If not, no need to comment negatively any further. The way it was explained to me was that the system only needs to detect that it’s capable of recharging during a 24 hour period in order to expend the energy to heat the battery overnight during cold...
