Clearly, Ace isn’t the place “with the helpful hardware folks” they would like you to think it is. Usually when you point that out to them and that you can take your $20 to someone else who is a bit. More helpful, they realize how stupid it is to turn away business.
No amount of spreading was releasing my chip, so I had to cut... not sure it will be visible in the picture, but cut on the side by the key just a small bit thru to the chip and was able to get the point of an awl in under the chip and pop it up. the bottom of the chip case angles up slightly...
I May be just a tad confused on all the RFID discussion... I have proximity locks and only pulled the circuit board out of the OEM fob and transplanted it onto the DI Labs fob... no chip was moved that I am aware of, and have no issues with the operation of my JT. Do I not have the RFID chip?
If you have a batteries + in your area, they can do it, but might give you a hassle if you didn’t buy it there... I had to ask if they just didn’t want my money and they finally relented and cut mine.
That’s Gator... green seems to be a color they like to change up year to year. They had Commando green in 2013 that looks a shade lighter than Gator. Maybe it will be back in ‘22....
You should print off the PDF and then mock up a template with the PDF letters. - maybe have the legs of the middle ‘R’ wrap around the camera. Cut a cardboard template and mount it on your tailgate and post a picture... all the letters you need are there except the ‘E’ - you’d have to make that...
Bonus - when you drop off your JT at the dealer or for valet parking , you can lock the consol and keep the key in your pocket when you hand over the fob. Try that with the factory fob!
