2016 was a very different engine, different oil pump, different oiling needs, different passages, different lash adjusters, followers and more. So we really can't count the 2016.
Adapter isn't going to hurt anything - as far as helping, there's no proof of that, either.
If you watch the oil...
I would suggest a couple of OCI's of Valvoline Restore and Protect to help clean that up.
I am betting 90% of that was from the overfill and messing up your intake and PCV system. Switching between oil brands would not cause that.
This worked out really well! Was really worried I’d mess this up and was pacing the floor at 2:30am. Was done the final torque at 10:30am and have been driving around all day. No leaks! (It takes a community) Thanks for posting that.
I'm not an advocate on doing oil system flushes either. Looking at the photo Maximus Gladius posted , I'd be worried about the rest of the internals. Had he never drop the pan, he would have a clue what is going on inside. I can see a benefit doing a flush in his case after the big review.
What the heck are you doing to get build-up like that? That's crazy, and I used to only see that on vehicles using bad oil and/or short drives, never getting thoroughly warmed up. They'd "coke up" inside and plug the oil return passages back to the pan from the tops of the heads. I'd have to...
@Maximus Gladius
Straight from the service manual:
Clean off all the old sealant and wipe down the areas with isopropyl alcohol prior to applying the sealant. The manual calls for a 3 to 4mm wide strip of sealant applied to one surface only for the oil pan (don't put the sealant on both the...
That was #6 all the rest looked much better. All but that 6th one was in the gap range very close. One thing I thing I would do is get a lay down creeper that was murder climbing up on top that lifted Jeep to get to alot if the bolts...
For normal driving, ZF's recommended interval is 93K mi (conversion rounded down from 93.2K mi). I consider this advice, from ZF, to be an extension of "the book". Please note that, from a warranty perspective, ZF is not part of Jeep or Stellantis.
For normal driving, the owner's manual says...
These are what I'm after. They take the place of the one long piece that comes on the JT with the steel bumper.
The angled parts go to brackets that screw to the bumper to hold them from rotating.
They definitely are, there was a member selling a set last year. Tried to reach out but didn't respond for a month so didn't want to risk it when he finally did.
Edit: It was from Maximus not Mopar: https://www.maximus-3.com/product-page/jljt-standard-filler-trim-plates
Depends on the oil and the base.
Amsoil says different.
Modern synthetics are fine at those temperatures.
Their motorcycle oil handles 500 degrees.
The gauges are there to indicate danger - and if they don't move over center, it's not a danger point. Nothing wrong with it. I frankly wish...
Had the pleasure of travelling north 3.5 hours to Edmonton on Monday! Finally doing a road trip that had me going there and back in the same day. Truck loves the road trips and I saw another drop in transmission temps.
I said above that after my 3rd pan drop was when I noticed temps drop. Then...
Well written , I dont know enough to really answer, but my guess as to the make up of the 8&9 fluid is that it is Full-synthetic. Now its only a guess I am probably wrong soooo whats the answer ? Semi- or Full. Reason I say full because No semi- oil could last as long as ZF and Stellantis...
@Maximus Gladius...ouch all the way around.
I almost never hear it. I checked temps and they seemed nice and cool. I watched it the rest of the drive and it stayed stable and I can't remember the number...but it was in the first 1/3 of the gauge the entire 4+ hour drive. This just started. I'm...
First, although I'm not a "lifetime" fluid guy as the quotes here go, I know realities and will go back to what certain members always preach about numbers:
If it's rated at 1,200 pounds you know it can do more because of the engineering buffers and so on.
Over and over certain people here say...
