I went with a spacer lift, since I wasn't sure how much lift I'd be happy with/need.
The AEV spacer lift includes longer sway bar links, and also a spacer for the driveshaft carrier. Also includes shock extensions, and the ProCal if you want to use that to calibrate for bigger tires instead of...
The IronRock kit comes with shock extension brackets. The whole kit is as nice as I've seen. You will need to add bump stop spacers. Either theirs or other 2".
I have a jtr. I'm running an "IronRock" 2 inch spacer lift with shock extensions. I would never argue that one or the other is "better". That being said, for my use, I find the spacer lift with stock suspension is just fine for me. It rides and drives as stock. I like the extra clearance and...
I doubt I'll need 35's tbh and since I drive a lot to work/home, I don't want an appreciable loss of power, mpg, etc. I know I'm being petty but really just want something 'cooler' than the street tires on the Sport.
Found this locally......thoughts...
...and be happy with them VS a full 35. Or the Kenda 35x10.5's that are pretty popular on here. They're heavy but not as wide.
I LOVE my 2in ironrock off road spacer lift. It has worked perfectly for me and I have the same general usage as you. Lift has held up great with towing and general...
I have a Rubicon suspension for a jeep gladiator with shocks and springs $300, also have with it a 2 inch ironrock leveling kit $150. Or will sell it all together for $400.
Only using 2 in spacers. I have the 2in IronRock off road spacer lift.
Im aware that the common knowledge is that its unnecessary to bother with LCAs after only a 2in lift. Im doing everything I cant to try and stay as close to OEM spec as possible. Which so far as seen me add MPP front LCAs...
I do tow a little here and there, trailers and construction equipment. Nothing enormous, a bobcat here, a backhoe there. The payload is actually not that great in the wagon as compared to the gladiator.
...for on and off road application according to all the reviews on youtube and such.
as for a lift...A simple spacer lift like the AEV kit or IronRock off road kit will suffice for making it feel more like a truck with out making you go broke.
If you decide to tow...airlift 1000 bags are a...
Certainly could be shocks bottoming, or bump stops, but I put a similar spacer in a few months ago with no issues. Stock shocks and bump stops. I think possibly something may have loosened or you weren’t able to fully torque the control arms , and they’re moving a bit.
...suspension at all. Thus my reason for looking into options for moving the def tank. Spring rates are a small problem with a easy fix. The def tank is a larger problem. And if I can not find a satisfactory work around I will likely scrap the entire kit as I would rather go with IronRock Off-road.
Yeah I'm inclined to blame the lack of bumpstops as well. I got full use out of my stock ones before lifting and with a kit like that you need to extend the bumps as much as you move the spring perch and shock mount.
Not necessarily, all you might need are bump stop spacers, which are cheap! I'm surprised they aren't part of the Ironrock kick. They were included in my kit for this reason.
The IronRock spacer lift lacks bump stop spacers. The front springs could be going into coil bind, or the shocks could be completely compressing and limiting suspension up-travel.
