So following what I posted above, and topping up the reservoir just enough to be above the screen so my “brake fluid moisture tester” could test, …I gave the added oil some time to mix and here is what my tester says about the moisture in my brake fluid.
(53000k kms - 33k miles)
Mine is still good.
I remember that - mine still hasn't budged since the initial drop in the first month or so. It's now settled to the point it's not dropping visibly. almost 9,000 miles and it's gone down maybe 2 or 3 ounces or so since I first saw the truck.
My 2020 went through 8 ounces from the time it was...
I’ve read this whole thread, following your saga. Did I miss where your transmission was replaced? By FCA? Or did you buy one from the GM Dealer? Any update to the legal action?
Thanks
I like how you are thinking. I'm at 12k on my JT, so I'm starting to think about a partial fluid change, maybe this summer.
My JK automatic transmission calls for a fluid & filter change at 120k (60k severe service). At 20k, I did 3 consecutive partial fluid exchanges (3 quarts each) 25-50...
Adding to this post, I'm attaching the 3 lab results from sucking out 3 used quarts of the mopar 8/9 Speed ATF and adding 3 quarts of the same, from 1940k kms to 9231k kms over a 3 month period. 1 quart per month.
Excessive action?? Maybe but I love data points and one can see from the metal...
Bingo!
I sent a sample for testing before changing mine. I was not excited about the results for a new trans with only 18k miles. They recommended fluid be changed immediately and soon after to get all the shit out. I didn’t have the glycol or whatever from bad manufacturing practices that...
I’ve also tried sea foam in the gas and I can’t say anything other than a can costs $15cad each up here and if I’m not mistaken, you’ll drop in 2-3 cans for a tank treatment. Did I see improvements after burning off $45cad worth of sea foam in one tank?? NO. Sea Foam thanked me though.
Likewise with a car seat. My wife was keen on a TRD but we decided the back seat with a car seat was too cramped = toddler kicking your seat back.
She ended up being intrigued by then really liking as she put it, how close the windshield is. Much better visibility in our opinion which is...
I've had no warranty issues with mine, using the Maximus-3 tow loops and a charging lead from the motorhome.
I guess part of it will depend on what your, "...high end electrical kit," adds to the Jeep.
Kevin
Hey all, I have a Builtright industries side molle panels and most hardware, and Rebel Offroad side HD trail rail system. The sides won’t work anymore with my Maximus 3 rack. I’m keeping the one by the cab still. Can sell together or separately if anyone is interested. $250 for everything...
A couple of things to note -
When you use any type of charger on a wet battery, there is most likely a "surface charge" at the end. So if you see 13.0 volts or more after charging, it's "likely" that's where the extra above 12.7-12.8 volts is coming from. Hard to say for a fact as some AGM...
