We had one that FILLED the engine so full that it was coming out of the dip stick tube. We had the oil guns that hung from the ceiling on a reel. The guy stuck it in, squeezed the trigger and went to do something else. The rest is spilled oil.
...(retired), I have seen it ALL. From no oil in engines (vehicles coming back on a flatbed with a seized engine) to many vehicles coming off hoists due to the lift pads placed incorrectly on vehicle. One fell from the highest position when it reached the top and then slammed down on the...
Went to menards, got a kayak hoist mounted it on the ceiling with 2x4's. Used a hammock strap to span across the front with Anchor points from harbor freight ($9.99) in each hole. Have a tie point on the wall next to where i park
Anyone order this or get one of these yet?
I'm on the fence. I can't fit any other kind of hoist in my garage.

Yeah. I dunno what I'm gonna do. I thought the Bestop Sunrider might be cool and if that's the case maybe I won't take the the back part of the top off that often. I dunno.
I honestly think I would ultimately prefer the regular painted top and not Line-X.. The Line-X is gonna have that bed...
...this but ultimately decided against it. I very much prefer the look of the painted hard tops, but the black is just more functional. I’ve already chipped it, but fixing will be easy.
The line-x sounds like a happy medium except it can be heavy and I still have to lift my top off without a hoist.
Bought from Quadratec a couple of months ago and was never taken out and installed Paid 300.00. It is on sale at the moment and reason but this is still a great buy.
Because it’s so damn hot in KS over the summer I typically leave my top on for a little shade but pull the doors pretty regularly. I can remove or install all 4 in less than 10 minutes, so not too bad. My kids are older so if they fall out, it’s on them!:)
I have a cordless ratchet that I...
I agree. I keep my top off all summer and into october usually, but since i have kids, i normally don't take the doors off. It is such a bigger pain in the ass to remove the doors then to hoist the top off. maybe i'm just used to doing it though. idk.
...For example, on two different occasions, I tried my local Discount Tire. One time when lifting my Durango, they crushed the fuel tank. On another visit with my wife's 300, they destroyed the front splash guards with the hoist pads. Too much inexperienced youth turnover. Not worth it for free. ?
When I first got married to the first wifey and was living in an apartment. Wifey comes home and finds me doing a valve job on the kitchen table. And the rest of my race bike torn apart in the living room. That went over real good with her. LOL
...rebuilds, oil circulation system, fuel pump, stator, oil pump, etc, etc. I removed the engine with the boat still floating in my slip. Engine hoist was attached to the building with a 30ft tow strap to make sure it couldn’t go over the sea wall. My neighbors hated me. It ran perfectly until I...
...than dropping the spare.
I think an air compressor and plug kit are at least as valuable as a spare.
One time about 10 years ago one of my crews hit something on the highway and destroyed a tire. The spare tire hoist locked up and we couldn't get the spare down. I had to trailer that van...
