  1. A tale of two Gladiators to get one 80th Anniversary model

I got all the (simple) wiring done today and cut holes in the speaker mount kits for the Rockford Fosgate tweeters. Unfortunately, the speaker grille holes to not line up with the mount kit. Crutchfield is going to send out a set of 6 3/4" grilles that should line up.
  2. Wisconsin 4 Fuel Anza 18x9 wheels with 285 Yokohama Geolander A/T

This set only has a few hundred miles on them and looks like new. They include all lugs, TPMS, and extra sockets. Save over $600 at $1,790 obo. Willing to drive a reasonable distance if you are in or very near Wisconsin.
  3. A tale of two Gladiators to get one 80th Anniversary model

I got the wire adapters yesterday, but they have the same ends as the tweeters. I called Crutchfield tech support who said I could pick up connector adaptors at any hardware or stereo store. After a morning wasted going to many stores being told I was crazy that nothing like that existed I...
  4. A tale of two Gladiators to get one 80th Anniversary model

The new Rockford speakers are here, but they forgot to send the wiring adapters for the tweeters. Doh!
  5. A tale of two Gladiators to get one 80th Anniversary model

I still have yet to hear anything from Travis at Crutchfield so I called and talked to Tech. Support and they recommended some Rockford Fosgate 6 1/2" component speakers that run on lower power and do not have crossovers so the tweeters can be wired up directly to the factory wiring with an...
  6. A tale of two Gladiators to get one 80th Anniversary model

So I got the SSV Works speaker adapters and Polk speakers installed in the sound bar, but the speakers sound awful. Very underpowered, even with the "upgraded" Alpine amp. I think the issue is that each speaker location has the power split between 2 more speakers so really only 1/2 of the...
  7. A tale of two Gladiators to get one 80th Anniversary model

I got some time today to do the cutouts for the new speakers in the sound bar. It is a bit involved and time consuming, but not terribly difficult with the right tools. Polk 6 1/2" 2 way vs. stock 4" and upgraded Alpine 3 1/2" speakers. Quite a difference! Here is the cutout almost...
  8. A tale of two Gladiators to get one 80th Anniversary model

I finally got a chance to get the Jeep off road and get some mud on it. It worked flawlessly and I was amazed by the capability.
  9. A tale of two Gladiators to get one 80th Anniversary model

Time to start doing some more involved projects. Step one is replacing the factory speakers. I have the upgraded Alpine stereo and it sounds more powerful with the amp and sub, but it still lacks clarity. So I took apart the sound bar like I did on my 2020 with the stock stereo and the 4 inch...
  10. A tale of two Gladiators to get one 80th Anniversary model

Until I get a chance to document my current project, here is my last little/easy project: A Quadratec short antenna. This should really be the first upgrade anyone does to these vehicles since the stock antenna is roughly 67 feet tall. I easily shaved off well over a foot of the stock antenna...
  11. Anyone install or use a Block or Battery heater in winter on the 3.6L?

I've never gone camping in -40 degrees, but I am glad it worked out for your marriage.
  12. Anyone install or use a Block or Battery heater in winter on the 3.6L?

I hear you on Vegas, but up here in northern WI the temps are much different than Indiana. We get that cold arctic air at least a few times a winter and last winter it lasted almost a week which completely killed my battery that was not even 2 years old and had an additional 120CCA compared to...
  13. Black Horse Roll Bar Installed

Thanks! Looks good. Is it easy to wire up the 3rd brake light? Nice! How well do the lights work on the roll bar being that far back from the front of the truck? Was it fairly easy to wire them up? I've been thinking about adding the aux switch kit from Mopar, but all the lights I look at...
  14. Does anyone have the N-Fab Rock Rail Step System (or the Fab Fours Tube Rock Sliders)?

Thanks for the input, but I am really just between the two I listed. With steps, I prefer them to be removable for off-roading.
  15. Black Horse Roll Bar Installed

I like the design of this roll bar. What are your thoughts after having it a little longer? Did you install a tonneau cover yet? I have a soft roll tonneau that I think would work with this, but it looks like I would only be able to roll it up about 2/3 of the way. I could probably make...
  16. Anyone install or use a Block or Battery heater in winter on the 3.6L?

Gotcha. How long do you need to plug in the factory block heater and does it turn off once it reaches a certain temperature?
  17. Anyone install or use a Block or Battery heater in winter on the 3.6L?

Just noticed you are in Vegas. Why do you need a block heater?
  18. Anyone install or use a Block or Battery heater in winter on the 3.6L?

I thought I read something like that. So what do you think Mr. Bill- better to warm the block 1st witht the mopar block heater or the oil with one of these magnetic or stick on oil pan coolers?
  19. Has anyone had good luck with Superchips or is there better tuning software that provides actual hp gains?

That's a bummer. I sent in the computer from my old car and did a road tune with a very well respected tuner and the tune they sent me was garbage. Spent the next month trying to get it fixed with more tuning.
  20. A tale of two Gladiators to get one 80th Anniversary model

My current truck has the black plastic "Gladiator" kick plates. My wife got me the shiny aluminum ones for my 2020 that had none. I kind of like how the black plastic ones blend into the black truck. What do you guys think- should I swap the black plastic ones out for aluminum or keep the...
