Description in the title… few others had same issue, cracked and split boots on not real old end links. I’d love to bolt on some replacements that will last me and don’t really need disconnects for my use case. Any suggestions?

Maybe a silly question, but the mount plate that comes with it seems like it should "press on" and sit flush with the end on the shock, but it doesn't. Is this correct? Nice piece of hardware, just seemed like an odd assembly if so.
