I understand the low percentage, but on something that is going to be relatively high volume, low percentages still mean hi raw numbers. I hereby sweeten the deal by stating I will buy several of them if they would just make the darn things.
What kills me is that there is obviously something available. They were able to “beef up“ the eight speed automatic to accommodate the diesel. They have a six speed manual that FCA uses with the Cummins which is far much more torquey than the VM Motori. I wish they would just make it happen.
Of the test trucks that have been seen, have any of them had manual transmissions? Is there any indication of whether or not a manual transmission will be available?
It just kills me, because there are all kinds of manual transmissions available that will stand up to the torque output of the diesel. Even FCA uses one in the 2500 Ram, and whatever they put in the Viper is obviously strong enough as well. I really do not want to have to settle for the...
With a longer wheelbase, longer frame, and presumably more room for different equipment underneath, is there any chance we will see a manual transmission with the diesel on the JT?
