The b-roll video of the 2 door JL Willys shows a wrangler and gladiator under the headlight switch… indicating shared components (really hoping the 24s have this interior)

I don think AEV was testing for Jeep... but Jeep has licensed AEV products many times in the past and I wouldn't be surprised if they do so with the bed design.
Pretty sure this concept was from 2005... not really sure if it was the basis for the Commander... but could have influenced either that or the JKU as it preceded both
midsize power wagon and midsize raptor are great comparisons :like:
solid front axle is another thing that makes the JT unique vs. the rest of the segment
I think the JL is cool, and pretty much exactly what I was expecting ( an updared JK, just as the TJ was an updated YJ).
The JT truck is what I've been waiting for for a while, and so far I'm still excited for it to get here, even if I have to wait another year for it.
But remember, if the JT has lockers and can still tow 6500 lbs than you're still better off than the Colorado ZR2 which can only tow 5,000 lbs it's all relative... 6500 is more than the Toyota TRD Pro can tow as well, so JT has the best towing of any of the off road focused mid size trucks
I think as base as we're going to get is manual transmission v6 with steel wheels, similar to how the base Wrangler is... I won't expect it to be in the 20s like the base Colorado. I'm expecting the base JT to be priced and equipped similar to the z71 or TRD-Off Road, but I hope I'm wrong.
This makes me so happy that JT towing and payload is on level with Tacoma
I'm guessing JT will have Base vs. Premium because all trims will have the same strength axles (unlike Sport vs. Rubicon on Wrangler). Or maybe they just haven't decided on the trim levels yet, but they know...
