I recently found out Factor 55 is based here in Boise and decided to visit them and see what I could add to my recovery items list. Met Justin and Michael while there and shot the shit for about an hour and a half. I was very impressed with these guys, so much I made a larger investment in...
Finally!
A few notes. The Warn 12S does fit, and even with all the lights it still gets plenty of air. The 2.5DS lift is what these trucks should come with from the factory. Rides and drives like a dream.
That’s the beauty of free market. We each can determine what is or isn’t a value. It’s my money to spend how I choose... even for a name if that’s how you want to see it. Either way I bought what I wanted based on my needs and research.
It Boron Steel.... not the same thing as what other companies use. Which is what I see a lot of people missing the boat on. Its 4xstronger, 20% lighter (advertised) and more expensive material to work with (familiar with as a machinist). It cant be cut and welded like regular steel. Hence the...
While I have not received mine to confirm, they say it's 20% lighter than a comparable steel bumper.... So if it helps offset additional weight on the front end it's a bonus worth more when combined with 4x strength and corrosion resistance. At least for me.
Boron steel is 4x stronger than typical steel as you've hit on. It is also more corrosion resistant to things such as road salt. Is it for everyone, no, not saying it is. All I'm saying is I have yet to be disappointed by any AEV product I've had experience with.
A few things come to mind.
Pattern, effective Lumen, temperature (color) and chip means everything for performance. I've always been a fan of Light Force and an equivalent setup is about the same price as the AEV. So I'm going to give the AEV setup a run and compare.... It's kind of like not...
I purchased mine yesterday. Spent 3.6k for a complete front end w/lights. Having had years of experience with AEV all the way back before they took on Nth I've yet to be disappointed by any of their products.
Waiting on Synergy Manufacturing to get the JT rear arms and track bar done..... Best system I've ridden in was a hybrid of Synergy hardware and AEV Spring/Shock combo
Another vote for the AEV 2" spacer. I am currently using as a temporary solution till the 2.5 DS is released. According to AEV may happen sooner than later with the 5100 shocks. I added Synergy Manufacturing front upper and lower control arms to dial in the front end as well as the front track...
