if you are talking about the orange marker lights on the side, you cannot turn those off. DOT 393.11 if I remember right... even the Oracle fender chop lights have it to be DOT compliant

I did the OEM aux switch kit in about an hour and half. Really easy to do. You do not need to pull the fender trim, punching a hanger through the grommet is cake and the wiring is super easy. Don't be afraid to go that route...
