Thanks for the reply. That's a beautiful thing. I've got the RK 4-link rear now and 4.5" springs, but Metacloak shocks which are limited to 28" or so. Looking to bump that up but worried about the springs.
Following. Looking great! Was that a rear spring that popped out? Curious what height lift you guys have and what your plans are for the rear swaybar? Are you thinking limit straps to keep the spring in place on full droop?
Woohoo! I feel like I should be getting commission šš
Glad everyone is having a great experience. After a year mine is still holding up well, no corrosion changed the oil, no issues.
The fuel tank skid plate is actually the same price (~$430 shipped at time of this post) from either company.
The ASFIR4x4 transfer case skid plate is nearly $100 cheaper currently, but it doesn't replace your existing plate. It actually bolts over it.
The engine skid is indeed an extremely...
A lot of big name American manufacturers have had aluminum and steel options for a while, so there's nothing to worry about. Aluminum is softer, so in most cases it's 1/16" thicker than steel counterparts while still lighter.
And as others stated, it won't rust so there's less maintenance...
Awesome, thanks. Yes, mainly lower angles to get a sense of clearance and drop from door sill: full vehicle side, from a distance for example, and maybe a close up on the finish texture?
Wow this thread got active quickly. Sorry for the delay, I actually was just getting the lift finished! š
Just catching up, the install is super easy and has more clearance than other plates I've seen that curve all the way over the driveshaft and make me nervous. Rubicon or Mojave should have...
After several off-road trips scraping heavily on rocks (still factory Rubicon height), Iām very happy with the skid plate. Itās got some scars and has held up well.
At this time, other than this plate, I only have the front and rear diff plates from Metalcloak, which have also seen some action...
Thatās concerning. I just received (not installed yet) my MC GC kit, but with RK 4.5ā springs and Pro-X 4-link. Iām hoping that since I ordered well after the discovery and fix, Iāll be OK, but concerned that the fix is essentially the same as new ones, so if thatās not working...
Sorry to resurrect an old post, but I'm surprised by how few photos there are of this bumper, so I thought I'd share a few in case someone is looking and has questions.
Caveat emptor: I installed mine early Sept 2020 from one of the earliest batches. The instructions had some mistakes in them...
Would you mind measuring the height of the door sill (bottom of drivers door) and the bottom of the tailgate? Thatāll give a sense of the overall height and rake change. For reference the stock Rubi on 33 MTs measures 23ā and 32ā respectively. Thanks!
Donāt mean to hijack, but Iām considering the same lift, would you mind measuring a couple things? Specifically the height to the driver side door sill, (bottom of drivers door), and then the base of the tailgate? Thatāll give a good sense of the rake change from stock and roof height.
For...
Just in case anyone else is searching, Shad19 shared a super easy, 5 second solution. He even posted a super helpful video: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/rear-headrest-removal.3215/post-532907
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but it comes up on Google and in case anyone else was searching for the easy way to do this, Shad19 posted this video: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/rear-headrest-removal.3215/post-532907
Thanks! I totally missed that little hidden feature. Super functional, but if I don't intend to use the swinging attachments, I wonder if the corners are too bulky. Would be good to see a side by side comparison with the stock rear bumper, as I'm looking for a more slender profile.
