I wouldn't be surprised if Ram does wind up building a midsize, true body on frame pickup. With the Ranger coming back, Ram might feel like it wants a piece of the midsize pie, and a unibody Fiat based offering won't cut it. No one is really cross-shopping a Tacoma or a Colorado with a Honda...
If the Jeep truck starts at 40k that's actually fine. But if It starts at 50k+ that's a complete deal breaker. I would never pay 57k plus tax and added fees, just to get into a lifestyle truck. A well equipped 40k truck is reasonable.
1/2 and 3/4 ton American trucks always have huge discounts...

I guess that's what happens when the overpriced JKs have sold like hotcakes for the last 11 years, and people willingly spend 100k+ for AEV conversions. My barebones Jeep stickered at $32k, probably cost 10k to build...
Honestly I don't think the JT is going to look as good as the AEV converted JK. I don't mean the cab part, but from the rear doors back. So far, all the covered/camoed prototypes have awkward length + height beds (although I do like function over form, so I appreciate a long, usable bed.)
