Also, some places like Australia, legislate that you can't see any of the tire from the front, so that aero piece helps conceal the tire. We also should nottake off the front metal bumper stubby piece either...
God Bless nanny states!

Maybe an LED strip light (get the one that switches to white and either red or blue to preserve night vision) and a switch to install on the rear glass to provide cargo area light at night and when camping or overloading....
I have the goods, but still need to install them :). you have to...
In Australia, they DON'T provide a window sticker on vehicles (such a pain in the ass move). So if you google "Jeep build sheet VIN" you get a page with this link, that allows you to enter your VIN and see what it was built with:

Happy VIN'ing.

Most things you worry about in Australia crawl! The most deadly spiders and snakes on the planet.
When children are very little (under 4 and/or small) you may worry about a Dingo attack (but to be honest there are few dingos left in the wild! Near us is Fraser Island - the largest sand...
In Australia, we just got the Gladiator available.
Was talking to my dealer today and asked when Punk'n was going to be an option (as it's not even on the website). He said PUNK'N was being removed from both JT and JL!! WHAT THE!!! How can they delete the Super Bowl ad color... <sighs>. I...
Interesting point a Jeep dealer in Australia pointed out. The stars are only applicable to vehicles of similar mass. So a 5 star Corolla vs. a 1 star JL will see the JL surviving best. But pit a 1 star JL against a 5 star Land Cruiser and you may see a far different outcome.
I've heard...
So true about the nut behind the wheel! History teaches that we can't engineer out stupidity!
Still surprised Jeep has allowed the JL to hit such a low rating and failed to test the JT! Anyone know how much R&D or $$$ FCA spent on JL/JT development??!?
I'm still pissed at Jeep, I wanted a...
It's fun to see how things change from USA to Australia. Just wanted to show a different camping trailer style coming out of Australia.
I grew up in California and tent camped growing up out of a Ford Bronco towing a WWII jeep trailer to haul all the gear! Did the backpacking phase as well...
Definitely interesting!
I test drove a JL, here in Australia, and had a long conversation with the dealer. Interesting point he made, that I didn't know, is that the star rating is only for comparable vehicles of similar size/mass. As several previous posts have pointed out by example, a 5...
Congrats mate!
Are the leather seats "Saddle" in color? They look like the same tan my Dodge Ram had back in 2000, Black exterior with tan seats and interior...
I thought Saddle was a darker reddish brown??!?
Good looking rig!

Tricky question for the pros:
1.) Has anyone seen build options for a right-hand drive on the JT or JL?
There used to be a RH option when the Jeeps were used for mail delivery, or so I’ve been told!
2.) Anyone know what things on the truck would need changed or would differ from US to...
Same is true in Australia. The 79 is one of the last solid front axel 4wd offered in AU. Them Wrangler and Suzuki Jimny are the others. Happy to hear the JT seems to drive nicely and doesn't have the "death wobbles" some solid front axel vehicles have. Time will tell as people get them...
Do you have the rest of the VIN number photo? Specifically the tire information, sizing? I'm getting worried by what I see about the current JL and next years JT release in Australia. The JL has been delivered with 32" tires over here. I'm afraid FCA is going to do the same with the JT...
Ha! Ostrich not my style, better knowing the issues and going in eyes wide shut!
I also agree the Wrangler is a tough truck in real world crashes, just shocked/ surprised that FCA got soooooo blind sided and piss poor planning to let the Euro test have such horrible results!
