Haven’t ordered yet, but here’s my plan:
Forward facing camera- I really want this, mostly to see my dogs when they won’t let me in the driveway. Don’t want to spend the extra on the bumper and LED so if it’s in the budget I will. If not, maybe aftermarket.
Cargo management group- Don’t see...
I currently have a Colorado with a 6.5ft bed and tonneau cover. With the shallower (and much shorter) bed, I think I will want more room. I like the idea of the decked but much of what I put in the bed won’t fit. It might be good with a cap though? I anticipate wanting the height so will prob go...
Thanks for the write up! I have a Heartland Mallard M185. It’s 19ft long and has a 3600lb dry weight like yours. I have a Colorado now but had wanted to get back to a Jeep, so the gladiator will be perfect. Good to know this will work as a setup.
ha yes! While I do want a a @Bobs85Reny safari top for occasional dog use, I have antisocial dogs so they stay home for most road trips. Take the wifes GC if we want to bring them.
Dont give her any ideas about bringing along the cats and chickens though...
well, not specifically because of the gladiator, but that was my thinking. 2 is a good number, otherwise need bigger cars, and then one parent can go with each kid and no-one gets left out. #nominivans
now we will all fit in the gladiator!
Well, we have 2 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 14 chickens (more every year). Goats almost already happened, and I am fending off more cats and dogs left and right.
I’m currently in negotiations to get a barn/garage built. She wants goats, alpacas, and a new kitchen, and all I get so far is “you don’t need that much space”.
So I have been waffling back and forth between the sport S and the Rubicon. I thought about the Overland, but I wanted the full towing ( just in case). Really I want an overland with nicer tires and max tow. I was able to see the Overland and Rubi side by side this week and take a drive. I...
I was initially considering only the Sport S and Rubi, for the towing capacity. I really only need to tow about 5k realistically though. I want all the cool stuff in the Rubi, but don't really need it, and would like more cool stuff than the sport. So now thinking about whether the 6k in the...
Parking spots - Its shorter than my crew cab long bed Colorado by about 10in. I have to be selective with parallel parking and my hitch hangs over. Gladiator will be slightly better.
U-Turns - Long so its gonna suck. Hoping the wheels turn more than my current truck. Wife's GC has a lot...
not to be that guy, but I did black plastic-dip on my JK and my Colorado and it held up for years. nice matte finish. I was going to do grille black, but I decided I wanted to be able to keep the chrome under it for resale on my Colorado...
the decked systems look really nice, but seem like alot of wasted space. Thinking about a custom aluminum setup similar, but instead of two smaller drawers, just build one big bedslider, and be able to put modular dividers.
Thats what they make plastidip for, and its only a couple bucks...
I hate chrome, so I blacked out my Colorado grill and bowties with it, now everyone is surprised that I got a "black tie edition" Colorado.
