The only people who think that the 3.6 manual works great in an Off Road, JEEP/Truck . are either coming from vehicles they have never taken off road to the extent of Jeeps capability's. or FCA sponsored . Why do you think they had to give it a 5:13 non crawler first gear .
It is because they have given the 3.6 no low end torque ,you need to rev the hell out of it, to get it going. slipping or stalling . hence the 5 :13 first gear . three years in the JL, no heavier flywheel ..seems like they are wanting to get rid of the manual.
So he wasnt unhappy about his early engine replacment . and his rebuilt failure ? Seemed to be the case in his videos . Not sure how many Australians can afford a Gladiator anyways .
coming from an 03 Rubicon , i found the lack of low rpm torque for off road use unacceptable with the manual , 5:13 helped a bit but still nowhere as good as earlier editions . i dont know how people tow large weight with the manual. much less go off road . but my idea of off road might...
Make you able to use 6 gear on the road more often , and not have to stall as much, on off road trails that we bought Jeeps for. You dont buy Jeeps to do easy stuff. leave that to the Tacoma's . Colorado s. lol
