As long as you don’t get colored fenders with a black top you can’t go wrong. I’m also having trouble with the color that’s why I’ve been making so many renders.
I'm not that good at changing top colors, but I saw a post where @MadManMoheenid changed the tan Gator top to black maybe he can.

Firecracker reflects light differently than Gators slightly more matte look so it looks a little odd along the with the color. The guy posted another pic with less reflections which I could use to get a closer.
I think I'm starting to prefer Gator with a black top unlike the other Gladiator...
Some of those professional shots of Gator have the color tweaked in post editing. Like the TFL video where Gator looks like a darker Gobi. I found this one video it looks like some guy just recorded it with his phone and it looks greener (better).
Yes thats what I was thinking, but when I posted a more pastel version in an earlier post I deleted someone who owned a Hydro Blue wrangler told me its darker in person.
The more options the more you loose I would just get the Spray-in Bedliner and the Auxiliary Switches which is cheap and desirable for people who plan to mod. If I was buying used I would also want the 7 inch screen.
If you bought a base Sport instead of Sport S you could probably sell it...
There's something bright green in the background reflecting off the paint on the passenger side in that first shot thats making it look more commando green than it actually is. I noticed it in some of the pics of the first post too. Should naturally look like it does @ 55 seconds on the drivers...
Yes Gator looks great with black flairs and don't have to worry about rock chips hitting the fenders.
It definitely would look better with black wheels like this base sport
I was expecting it to look like the Tank Color. I just use a red JT as base, then mask it using the sampled the pics I quoted. Any Rubicon I do will therefore be missing the red outline around the logo.
So the color ends up being a completely different color then the one in the build configurator. It looks like a better Gobi instead of military green.
If anyone is on the fence waiting to see what it looks like without all the mods this should give you an idea:
Hydro looks sky blue where the sun is shining and then dark blue where isn't.
You can see the color change as it transitions to the hood of this Cherokee
Here's one more I think Hydro will look good with black flares.
