  1. Factory Trailer Brake Controller releases ...EDIT: STILL WAITING

I've been eyeing that since I got my Gladiator. Now that it appears the factory unit is delayed yet again I'll probably pick one up soon. That way I can easily swap to the Mopar unit if/when it finally arrives. Though I had to tow about 3500 pounds the other day and it handled it better than...
  2. First time ride in snow/ice

Good to know. The last time I checked they didn't have a full set available for the Rubicon yet.
  3. Sport vs Sport S

I'm pretty sure max tow has always been an option for the base Sport. The online config tool certainly lets you pick it.
  4. Some confusion on max payload

A Sport S with the max tow option should have a GVWR of 6250 lbs just like the Rubicon. The max payload capacity listed on your sticker should take all of the factory options into account. GVWR - weight of your particular truck (options included) = max payload capacity.
  5. First time ride in snow/ice

Rokblokz has mud flaps available for the JT. They're the only ones I know of that sell flaps that fit the Rubicon (Mopar doesn't even have any for a Rubicon). I don't have my JT yet but I plan on installing a set of these shortly after it arrives.
  6. Picking up new camper...no brake controller

Drive slow, keep plenty of space in front of you, and allow for a lot longer braking distance. 30 miles isn't something I'd worry too much about especially over flat ground and limited stops. Though I have a fair amount of towing experience (non for the JT yet unfortunately). Alternatively...
  7. Rumors on upcoming colors?

Damn, that JWE looks like a nice color! Looks like it could be even better than Mojito. I'm still happy with my Hydro Blue choice, though. I wouldn't hold my breath on it showing up right away. There have been similar posts concerning the brake controller option (listed above as well) in the...
  8. See any Gladiators in the wild?

My local dealer apparently sold a hydro blue Sport S last week as I've seen it driving around town several times. My hydro blue Rubicon should arrive any day now and a friend of mine is thinking about getting a hydro blue as well. We may very well have three blue Gladiators running around our...
  9. Tesla Cybertruck anyone?

Yeah, I thought about that right away as I was watching the reveal event. One of the things I'm looking forward to with my Gladiator is being able to reach into the front of the bed to tie things down while standing flat footed on the ground. Not so much with those huge sails on the Cybertruck.
  10. Tesla Cybertruck anyone?

I think it's more of a form following function thing. Jack Rickard has a YouTube video talking about this (beware it is long and rambling). I think the Cybertruck was designed the way it is to reduce production complexity and cost. The body/frame/exoskeleton is essentially flat sheets of...
  11. Hauling ATV in bed

That ramp and bed-without-wheel-humps combo does look pretty sweet for hauling toys with wheels (ATVs, motorcyles, etc.) ...
  12. Hauling ATV in bed

Yeah, they aren’t cheap that’s for sure. High quality product though. I’m not too worried about the receiver hitch. It’s just a lot of weight sitting far back so it will be interesting to see if the front feels too light on the Rubicon JT. Like I said it felt fine with my Colorado so I think...
  13. Gladiator Window Sticker and Build Sheet Order Tracking

My window sticker showed up Wednesday as well. Getting closer ...
  14. Hauling ATV in bed

I have the mad ramps and they worked pretty well last summer on my Colorado even with my Polaris Ace (weighs about 900 lb). I will be trying them on my Gladiator at some point. First step is to actually get my Gladiator (window sticker showed up this week, so should be getting close ...)
  15. Rumors on upcoming colors?

I’d love to see something like plum crazy (purple) as an option.
  16. Tesla Cybertruck anyone?

It’s almost identical length, width, and height to a crew cab F150. I would like to see them come out with a mid size version, that’s for sure.
  17. Tesla Cybertruck anyone?

Fuel cells have a whole host of challenges of their own. It takes a ton of energy to produce, store, and transfer hydrogen. That’s fine if you have an abundance of clean energy, but you will get far more miles out of that energy in a battery electric. Not to mention there is virtually no...
  18. Max Tow Package Availability? Now a Max Payload thread

Actually, I think it's the tow package that makes the difference. The Sport S without any kind of tow package (max or "regular" tow) is a special configuration that gets the max 1600+ lb payload (6250 lb GVWR like the max tow, but narrower axles). @basicGlad cracked the code a few months ago...
  19. Tesla Cybertruck anyone?

I wouldn't count on this one. More Americans chose electric cars than a manual transmission last quarter. Take rates are quite a bit higher in other parts of the world (notably China and Norway). Most automakers offer at least one BEV nowadays and several are spending billions to stand up or...
  20. Hydro Blue Rubicon with grey dash

Excellent news! My build sheet lists the "Redical" Instrument Panel Bezels indicating a red dash - exactly what I want :)
