After driving for a week post service I will say the clutch feels better than before. I can ease the clutch out in first without giving it any gas and it doesn't stall. Reverse is a lot smoother also. It still feels too light for my tast and gives little feedback.
I took my truck in for the recall service last week and was disappointed at their response.
When I asked the service manager what was done he said the tech's notes are on the work order, I think he adjusted the slave cylinder sleeve. WTF???????
For backup and fail over KISS is your best friend KEEP IT STUPID SIMPLE. The more complicated you make it the easier it brakes and the harder it is to troubleshoot and fix.
My feeling is that auto manufactures put the latest wiz bag features in cars to add profit. I'd bet PTS parts costs less...
I'd like for someone who does get the parts replaced to request the old parts so they can post pictures.
I still need to call my dealer and make an appointment.
Sounds to me like they're taking the cheep way out. If I drive my truck easy I'm going to show less or no unusual ware. Which means the mechanic sees no reason to replace any parts. A couple of years down the road maybe I decide to buy a camper to go on vacations in the mountains. If I don't...
Yes you can bump start these MT trucks. #LostWoods is correct you don't want to be going more then a couple mph to do it in 1st gear, like as soon as you start rolling. 2nd is much more forgiving and 3rd takes at least a 5 mph roll. I used about a 25° hill for coasting to test. :jk:
That's the standard method, turn the key to run, put the trans in 1st or 2nd depending on gearing, push or cost down a hill, pop the clutch and go.
I'll see if it works the same with push button start after work. Couriosaty may get the better of me and I leave the house at lunch to test this.
I agree it's one of the reasons I prefer an MT and it is a feature that has come in handy many times over the years. I'll have to give it a try later today.
