How big is the crack? I returned my lease with a 7" crack in the passenger corner of the windshield and they didn't ding me for it. Mine was an LE with all the fancy stuff in the windshield and it was going to cost like $2k to fix so I was super relieved.
Just to respond to all these great comments:
The new truck is a RIVIAN R1T
For everyone who thinks they have equity in their trucks you can see my post where I tried to get fair value for my Gladiator using every single option possible and didn't get anywhere near what I thought: Link to post...
I posted here a few months ago in anticipation of returning my 2020 Gladiator LE lease.
The truck had 25k miles on it, it was nearly flawless with a couple of exceptions:
1) Windshield had a 6" crack in the bottom passenger side corner and a small .5" one in the center
2) Several 4" scratches...
You're not really looking at it in the right light imo. Leasing can be great in a normal market is you're looking to get a new truck/car every 2-3 years. That describes me to a T. In this market however, the value is close to the residual. If we were in a normal market, the value would be far...
Yes, I am in OC. My R1T is white. So far it's been awesome. It does have quite a few little bugs but they're all software related and OTA updates have been fixing them slowly.
Thanks for the advice. I might arrange to get it returned early and do so as is, that way if they give me any issues I...
Yeah, it's a little late for that. I actually was a bit of a fool in this case. My RIVIAN R1T got delivered about 6 weeks ago and RIVIAN offered me $46k for the Gladiator in trade. I turned it down thinking I could get more from one of the other services. As it turned out $46k was the best I...
I should have been a bit more clear on the size of the crack. It's about 5 inches. I am sure it doesn't fit within the accepted parameters ... The scratches will easily buff out but I wonder if I should even bother with those.
I have a Launch Edition 2020 Gladiator with 22000 miles on it. The buyout is $44K. My lease is up in July. I'm in CA so a buyout would have a 8% tax ...
Two small problems:
1) Small crack on the corner of the original windshield.
2) Couple of superficial scratches on the driver door from when...
What a total pain in the ass this install was.
The product is pretty good. I ended up doing a quick review of it if anyone is interested.
My biggest gripe is that in order to adjust it you have to completely uninstall it and reinstall it again. The position of the bolts really was not well...
I cannot figure out why on a vehicle that has the capability to remove the doors, roof, and windshield in minutes, something as simple as removing a headrest has to be so complicated. If you've ever tried to put in a front facing child seat in, you'll know how annoying it is. Anyway, the wife...
After a lot of false starts I got my 35" tire to fit perfectly under the truck. I'm sure I would have saved a few hours of bs fu##ery if I had just searched the forum. But in case you're planning on mounting a larger spare with an aftermarket wheel under the truck, be sure to measure the size of...
I've been driving with these for several months now and I do like them. Still don't like the mirrors but I got used to them. Here's a quick review I posted on YT:
also a quick video on just using tube doors in general:
Funny this thread came up again.
If you don't follow "Project Farm" on youtube you really should.
He did a review of filters and I think what you'll learn will surprise you no matter which side of the K&N debate you're on.
Here's the video:
Tire was low on air and I tried to fill it at gas station. When I tried to push the nozzle onto the valve stem, the whole thing fell into the tire. Instantly flattening the tire.
These are 35" tires on aftermarket wheels that the dealer had put on the car. My question is, is this some sort of...
Okay, so I went out and swapped the wedge from passenger to driver and it did make things a bit better. Still needs more, but it's tolerable now. I still stand by my earlier statement that the quality of the mirror assembly is far inferior to the quality of the doors. And, it would have helped...
Which side did you use the wedge on? I used it on the passenger cause it was pointing it really badly, but I'm thinking of putting it on the driver side. The solution would be to send me two thicker wedges with longer bolts so I can make the setup work. I've stopped the wobbling in the mirrors...
Okay so there must be two sets of mirrors in production. Mine have two positive stops. One shows me the inside of the cabin, and the next one is so far out that I can't even see the mirror.
Additionally they're super cheap plastic and I had to file the metal studs inside the housing just to get...
I did the same and honestly I really hate the mirrors. I ordered this set because it came with mirrors and they're all but useless. I have a video that I have to edit before I post but doors are great, mirrors are junk.
