  1. Jeeps Parking Next To Jeeps

In Anderson SC. My 97 TJ/Brute. Of course I walked into Outback expecting to be able to pick out the Gladiator owners šŸ˜‚
  2. Launch Edition for sale

If anyone wants one, thereā€™s a used LE at Toyota of Cool Springs in Franklin TN. Itā€™s the same one I saw on Craigslist a few weeks back. Itā€™s identical to mine except it has lighted drop-down steps. It has almost 49k miles and theyā€™re asking $55k. I saw a Red one for sale at Lake Keowee Ford in...
  3. Roof removal breaks seal?

Iā€™ve since replaced the 1x4 in the front with a 2x4
  4. Roof removal breaks seal?

Iā€™ve had a JT for 2+ years. Last year I built a hard top hoist for about $50 so Iā€™ve taken the top off probably 12 times. I have no issues with leaks or wind noise when Iā€™ve put it back on. If you have either of these, it should be covered by the warranty. see my thread ā€œhard top hoistā€ if you...
  5. North Carolina Premium Twill soft top

Is hardware included? Did you get dual tops? Iā€™ve been thinking about getting a soft top PM me if your price is negotiable.

  7. Jeeps Parking Next To Jeeps

  8. The Brute

Iā€™ve recently been talking to a guy about rebuilding the original 4.0 and adding a stroker kit. Also changing the ring & pinion if necessary to change the gear ratio. Weā€™ll hopefully get to that in a few months. Then Iā€™m hoping to drop a diesel into the Scrambler and add power steering & power...
  9. Hard top hoist

Those are Wet Okole neoprene covers. I tried to order the full set but they didnā€™t yet have a template for the back seat so they could only make the front seats. They need someone from CA to loan them a Gladiator so they can make a template for the back seat. I ordered a set for my Brute a few...

  11. Hard top hoist

I finally got a chance to take the top off using the hoist I built for the Brute. Now to figure out the windshield. It seems like Iā€™ll have to take the wipers off to fold the windshield forward. There is no mention of dropping the windshield in the ownerā€™s manual. Odd.
  12. The Brute

Recon the ā€œHellephantā€ would fit in a TJ? Iā€™d never heard of it until today. Probably outside of my budget but looks fun!
  13. Considering selling my Gladiator Launch Edition

I hit 500 miles today and I love this vehicle! I havenā€™t pursued the sale idea any further than mentioning it here & ruffling some feathers in the process. Like the guy in Sorbsā€™ video, I donā€™t care much for the crash avoidance. It has slowed way down when I was paying attention and felt I was...
  14. The Brute

Lol. Iā€™m not sure why I got so much hate for tossing that idea out there. If someone said they wanted to run for President I would think that they were foolish but I would wish them the best of luck.
  15. The Brute

Iā€™ll probably go with an LS or a hemi. The only time I wish I had already swapped the motor is when Iā€™m on the interstate going up a hill and dropping it into 4th at 65 and 3rd at 55 and running it the rest of the way up the hill at 4000 rpms. Iā€™m sure having 200,000 miles on it doesnā€™t help...
  16. Considering selling my Gladiator Launch Edition

Thank you all for your feedback; especially the ones who did it respectfully. It sounds like we all agree that there is a low probability that someone would want to buy my LE. Iā€™m good with that. Perhaps someone could answer this question for me: what do I have to lose?
  17. Considering selling my Gladiator Launch Edition

Thank you. If I really wanted to sell it I would put it on ebay or go to a broker who could probably sell it for $100k to someone overseas. I donā€™t *want* to sell it but Iā€™m *willing* to sell it...sorta.
  18. Red Overland on lot in TN

There was a guy who came out while I was there too and he wasnā€™t friendly at all. The folks in Antioch are nicer. I switched to their service department about 5 years ago.
  19. The Brute

I saw it in the Quadratec catalog many years ago when I first bought that TJ. When it needed to be refurbished I decided to spend the extra $10k to make it a collectors item and a great conversation piece. I think it was 2016 when I did the conversion and I have heard that they are no longer...
  20. The Brute

Yes. The kit came from AEV. I bought it through an AEV dealer in Chattanooga (Tomā€™s 4x4) who had built one himself several years ago and still had it. It took a year for AEV to ship the kit but it was worth the wait!
