I completely forgot to follow up on this thread. I did the same thin Doc did, removed the plate and zip tied the box under the dash. It has been working without issue.
I do need an extension to relocate the 12v outlet. I do miss that.
- Auto up down on all windows.
- Manual with diesel.
- Proper clutch for gas and diesel manuals so as to not cripple tow capacity unnecessarily. The Japanese know how to do it.
- Shorter reverse gear on manual.
- 12 volt DC in the bed with the AC outlet.

They’re just vinyl. If in the sun for just a little bit you can gently pull up a corner and slowly peel them off. I did it with mine to include washing any residue and a bit of wax over the area. Took about a half hour.
Look at Australia at Toyota, Isuzu, Nissan. All of the manual transmission options are at the top of the tow ratings. 7000+ lbs. Its only in he US on domestic (Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Ram) trucks are the manual transmission tow ratings so much lower. Mind you those are primarily with Diesel engines...

How about a proper tow rating for the manual transmissions. The Japanese trucks don’t take a hit in towing for selecting a manual. Why can’t Jeep do the same thing?

You are right. It’s been a long 3 weeks and 2200 miles. I got an email from car fax this morning about the recall but it stated that it was for the slave cylinder.
My truck was built after the feb 13th window for the recall. Here's to hoping they actually knew what the problem was and fixed it before mine was built.
