Only on the JT for a month. Sitting around since in the original bag, no box. Sold the Jeep. Extra parts need to go. $250 plus shipping. Only issue is the Falcon logo glue does not hold the tin logo on. PM me for questions and details.
I left the bracket and just took off the ring that braces the sector shaft nut. Quick and easy off then back on. And the tech was able to work around the bracket.
Third party confirmation.
Had the new box installed a month ago. She Who Must Be Obeyed drove it the other day for the first time since she refused to drive it months ago. She put 150 highway miles on it and stated that yes it was fixed. She was pleasantly surprised how well it steered. Her...
My alignment was perfect before the gear install. Had it done twice in the last year. Once by the dealer when I had it in for wandering and once by a local shop that I trust. Not sure why they did an alignment, but the top of the steering wheel was at 2 o'clock before I fixed it this morning.
I...
Had the new gear installed yesterday. It now drives like it should from the beginning. I had removed just the Synergy sector shaft brace for the install. After a week of driving I will probably reinstall.
The only negative was the steering wheel was quite a bit off after the alignment, which...
i had the parts department verify the new steering gear was delivered. Didn't catch all the numbers but the new one does end in AA. AE is the old aluminum steering gear.
I've done lifted Jeeps in the past and I find I like the height and look of my stock Rubicon. Probably do 35s but that is it. Getting to old to lift my butt too much higher.
Landmark Jeep in Morrow GA, south of ATL, said only about a week to get the parts as of last Friday. They were not generally aware of the TSB until I brought my copy in.
Had it in for an oil change, tire rotation and update for the air fill warning. Handed them the TSB and had no issues. The asst-service manager called later in the day to tell me it was done and I asked about the steering and TSB. He had no idea it was on the ticket. I calmly explained my past...
Damaged the POS plastic bumper and couldn't imagine spending a penny to fix it so I found a Craigslist steel rubicon take off, brand new, and swapped it out. With the brackets for the fog light swap, skid plate and top insert, all in $700. I like it...
I have had the JT for a year and 19k miles so far. I loved it when I bought it but the steering was so bad and the dealers so fricking unhelpful I really started to hate my JT. It got so bad I didn't want to even drive it. So I read and watched everything I could find on the JL and JT forums and...
And people just won't leave me alone at the gas station. What they never heard of the internet! Ask Google how much it cost, gas mileage, yada yada yada...
