My 6.7 had issues with DPF at 115k. Luckily I was able to delete it. I bought it to be able to haul a truck camper and horse trailer but it was primarily a daily driver. Even at highway speed, when unloaded, I doubt it was getting the workout it needed to stay healthy. My wife’s rover...
My wife has a Range Rover sport with the diesel. It has almost the exact same horsepower/torque as the ecodiesel. It’s awesome to drive and has averaged 27 mpg over the last 2 years. Like all modern diesels the emissions stuff is a pain. I would buy it again even though it cost me $4500...
TFL tested the ecodiesel vs hemi loaded at 8700# on Ike challenge. Ecodiesel gets better mileage loaded (5.4 mpg) and unloaded. It does drop more percentage wise but is better on both accounts. Will be interesting to see what it does when max loaded in a gladiator as it’s already better than...
Or you could just relax. Heaven forbid he didn’t do a search first. Some of you guys spend way to much time caring about internet/forum etiquette. If you have something to contribute to a legitimate question then respond. If not then move on. Nothing lost. If the process is that...
I’m with Bocu. Not everyone lives on this forum. Sometimes people just find it and want to ask a question. If it offends you that they didn’t do a search then just ignore. Someone who isn’t offended might answer. Cost you nothing
The EPA stuff might be in the pipeline. Especially if you live in certain states. No sign of it here that I’ve seen. A diesel will get bettter MPG and run stronger loaded or unloaded. There is a reason people that pull frequently use them.
If I remember correctly, the rate limiting step with the diesel is engine cooling. One of the engineers was discussing how they tweaked the grill to maximize cooling yet wanted to keep the 7 slat Jeep look. I wonder if any aftermarket companies will offer a different grill? Would it even...
I hear ya. I’m waiting to buy until it’s worked out. The tuners are pretty sharp, bet it’ll take them 6 months or so to have it figured out. My 6.7 Ford is night and day different after the delete.
You are correct sir. A 4K Lance truck camper in the back of my 1 ton dually squatted it, and changed the handling enough, to need air bags to make it feel safe at highway speeds. It’s rated for way over that. People flirting with max tow in real life driving are kidding themselves
The gladiator is a small truck. Those max tow numbers aren’t realistic if you are on anything other than flat ground or willing to keep it slow. 5k tops. That’s why I’m waiting for the diesel. It will pull 5k which is all the chassis and breaks should be doing anyway.
The more I read these threads the less info I have. More confusing with every post what is available and what is best. Last real Jeep I had was a 74 CJ5 that went anywhere I pointed it. Any of you gurus want to break it down for the normal folk?
