You might want to try using a strip of harder or medium hard rubber or a solid foam under it trimmed to the gap to get a better seat

It’s there but it’s a Jeep there’s always wind noise. The value of its use and purpose outweighs the wind noise in my opinion.

Their not tightened down on front short rack just loose strap to hold from lifting so no torque is put on them from any bed twist. The Leitner rack is what their latched down too. Hope this helps and gives you some ideas.
