You know, prior to this, I didn't think FCA wanted my money THAT badly.
This experience changed all that.
So they designed a parking brake assembly that would gobble up your credit cards. Then as you reach in to fish them out, they make you swipe those credit cards..
When you bought the part, did you take a look on how the rubber boot is secured? Any chance that I could just trim away the plastic console stuff and snap them in (one way street style)?
Seemed like there is a plastic ball on all of the feets, and a large clip at the top.
I'm still not sure if I can replace it myself it I bought the parts.
Forum here seems to suggest that it's plastic-welded from factory and I wouldn't be able to snap them in even if I cliped off the plastic parts from the console. And I'm not keen on replacing the entire console by myself...
The video explains the axial force load on the side gears that pushes the gears towards the casing and load the clutch plates. A preload spring will apply a constant pressure while the variant without preload spring will act like a open differential without load. The LSD used on the JLs are...
Because it's a non-preload spring variant, in low torque applications, it functions just like an open diff, when under high torque, the axial force from spider gear pushes the side gears away and towards the casing and presses the clutch plates together and locks them in place.
This video does a...
Wrong! There are no springs in the current generation of the LSD. Just lift the LSD rear diff up and spin the tires, the opposing tire does not spin, which means it's not spring loaded.
