It's obvious many of you don't know what One Thing means.
I recommend an emergency satellite communicator. I use the Garmin InReach mini which is very small and easy to carry and use.
My older Garmin was a bit bigger but saved my life on Mount Borah in Idaho.
Note to self: The "I'll...
I'm definitely in the fixed category. ARB twin compressor in a housing on the drivers side back wall of my Gladiator. I use it all the time, filling tires on the Harley and the wife unit's Lexus neither of which maintain air like my Toyo tires on the Gladiator.
More importantly "friends"...
Isn't it amazing that people have added the name Gladiator to any early Jeep truck?
What's more astounding is that a place that calls itself Worldwide Vintage Autos does it....
I notice a tick every now and then. Once the tick starts it will either stop when the engine has been driven at highway speeds---or it won't and go all day long. Then it can be weeks before is starts again.
Have the full warranty for 8 years or 85K miles so not worried if the engine does...
Here is a picture of my LoD rear bumper. It has a step built right in so I can get on the bed from either side when the tailgate is down.
Note to self. "You can't use the steps when you bury the damn truck."
Wife didn't take a good picture of it buried so the front tire and wheel well...
Not sure what some of these guys are thinking. IMO a bumper is supposed to stick out some and protect the body panels. It doesn't look like the bumper shown sticks out at all.
The great thing about the Gladiator is the height so the bumper doesn't have to stick out much to line up perfectly...
I was going to tell you not to do the exhaust right away but as you've already bought one and have been working on cars for years....
I put an exhaust on and hated it. Too loud and the drone at highway speeds was horrible. So I took it back off and reinstalled the stock exhaust.
The mod I do...
I put in the Centerforce dual friction clutch and it's a total game changer. Not cheap but fantastic on street and trails.
You'll still have to deal with the weird gear ratios but you don't ever need to slip the clutch.
If you just let the clutch out slowly, never touch the accelerator...
Considering how trashed my truck was after doing the trail yesterday I can only thank all of you who participated. It was obvious that the trails had been cleaned up recently---but the truck still got scraped up big time.
I'm leaving Friday to head up to the Ocala National Forest to take on the Tread Lightly! Four Wheel Drive Way Trail.
I just found out it's 81 Miles long!!! It looks like at worst it only goes to level 3 out of the 10 possible for BoH trails so I'm not worried about my fully weighed down JT...
Exactly. So don't claim you have a 22 gallon fuel tank if the pump won't pick up more than a gallon of gas. OR have it made clear in the owners manual that you only have 20.5 gallons of usable fuel.
But of course this is just "fuel" for a discussion on the forum. I love my truck and this...
Yeah, 22 Gallons my ass.
I actually did want to see how far I could get on the tank and wanted to hit the gas station 15 miles short of the expected run out. Yes I am an IDIOT!
As most of us know the warning goes down and down in miles available before just saying low on fuel. Unless...
On one of my 5K plus motorcycle trips I was motoring along around 75 when a bee or wasp somehow got in my helmet. Stung on the side of my left eyebrow before I was able to stop and get the damn helmet off. Swelled up very little---but hurt like hell for a good three days.
My Bike back then...
