FWIW, because i found oil in one of the spark plug tubes, i pulled the valve cover to replace tube gaskets and valve cover gasket. I just ended up buying a new valve cover (which had all the gaskets installed) for about $100 more. While i was in there, i replaced the three coil packs, as i was...
I just finished putting the intake manifold back in the truck after removing to change spark plugs. I just realized that I forgot to insert this foam piece when I reinstalled the manifold. I’m not particularly excited to pull the manifold back off. Just how important is that foam? Can I get by...
My 2020 Rubicon has 155,000 miles. Thought it was waaaaay past time to replace spark plugs. After living the nightmare of removing the intake manifold, I pulled the first plug. There was some oil on the plug. Does this indicate that the valve cover gasket is leaking? Or something more serious?
I have asked the dealership via text, but haven't heard back. Drove it yesterday. Thinking of buying today, but forgot about it when i was at the dealer (even though i remembered to snap a photo, duh!). I am not a stranger to gladiators -- i have a 2020 rubicon with 149000 miles. Just want to...
Has anyone replaced thermostat on the 3.6l? I have a small coolant leak. Dealer thinks it is thermostat. They couldn't get to it today, I need truck over Thanksgiving, so they sold me the part. Can't find many videos of this job online. Has anyone done it? Is it essentially the same as on the...
In over 100,000 miles of tracking, i have not found mine to be that accurate. And i have tracked all 110,000 miles except about three tanks of fuel. But exactly what is "accurate" is a matter of opinion.
Is it possible to install a jump seat that would effectively convert the front seats into a bench seat so that a smallish human could fit between driver and passenger? I have searched here and the JL forum and not found anything, so i'm wondering if there is some constraint that makes it impossible?
This issue happened to me several times. I finally discovered that it was happening when I had bumped the transfer case shifter, not enough to affect the actual shifting, but apparently enough to affect what the sensor reads. Simply shifting to 4wd and back to 2wd fixed the problem for me.
It happens on mine too. I'm at 30,000 miles now, and it has either stopped or I don't notice it at all anymore. Will try to pay attention next time I pull away. Oddly, it seemed to only happen the first time I drove it each day. Odd!
Sounds like the margins must be super high for manufacturers then? I'm guessing there are not more players jumping in the market to manufacture them because demand is too weak to support a business model with slimmer margins?
I've been looking at a few options for camping, including teardrop trailers like Vorsheer XOC. I can't figure out why they are so expensive? It seems crazy that they cost as much as a well equipped car. Am I missing something?
