I had the def sensor in my Diesel GC go bad after 48,000 miles. The sensor is built into the tank so it was literally over 3k to fix, for a GD fluid level sensor. Not doing Diesel ever again. What savings you build up in mpg and other engine parts you will spend on these complicated emissions parts.
I feel ya man. I was quoted that 3.8k repair before I knew we were getting free warranties. I was trading it in for sure just to drop it but at least now it's repaired and I got some time to sell it private.
Make sure to keep documentation on all this. There's a clause in the consent decree that forces FCA to buy back your Jeep if it needs a certain amount of repairs and or time in the shop post install.
