I personally think the rubicon is VERY well priced for what it is.
But its such a niche product and will be a hard sale for your average joe blogs.
Its built and sold as a "lifestyle" vehicle, and nothing else. So its good at most things, perfect at none. But its also a fun convertible Jeep...
Double Black is just spouting whatever their local dealer tells them and claiming it as their own insider knowledge/gospel.
There is NO confirmed date, NO confirmed specs, NO confirmed pricing.
Until you see it from Jeep Australia themselves, or on their website, anything the dealer tells you...
There's a bunch of LHD models doing a lap around Aus basically to various dealers. Nothing really that special unfortunately because it STILL doesn't confirm anything for us.
Yeah everything has been LHD over there, we're still holding out hope of some RHD news though.
Have been speaking to my mate that's taking over the Jeep Australia instagram, the issue is they've actually been out of service so not being able to update often
You'd be surprised how good those 5.7s are on fuel. They also deactivate half the cylinders when not under load.
Better fuel mileage than the V8 diesel cruiser gets that's for sure lol
You realise that we've had the 2.2 diesel for ages right?? Like, from launch.
We've had several come through our workshop. It was always known that we were never getting the 3.0L in the Wranglers.
And no, a 79 is never a good option. A 5.7L 1500 is a better option. The 79 doesn't even have...
That's it! Nice and local ;)
Pretty harsh in the south and west suburbs. Best to make sure you're covered. Admittedly I'm in Western Sydney and run the gauntlet.
It'd be dealer delivered with 37s and 3" lift for example.
I work for Solve Offroad. We're a 4x4 Specialist in Sydney with a bit of a cult following of Jeeps. The owner and myself are Jeep mad too.
Relatively straight forward. We've an engineer we use who is regularly engineering JK Wranglers on 37s and 3-4" lift. Generally speaking it involves a...
Well that's the worst thing that you can do with a Jeep... lol. ARB are only good for their lockers & compressors. Best to take it to a Jeep specialist.
All goes well, we're planning on doing 2nd stage manufacturing for these Gladiators so they come with a 3" lift and either 35s or 37s FACTORY...
