One thing with the auto that took me months to realize is that it wont kick on until the engine is warmed up (This includes fan speed). For me this can take 30+ minutes around DC on cold day.

This is interesting information. I felt it should be somewhere around here. I will have to test this on some areas near me since I am positive it has shut off several times in garages. But we know how the imagination goes where I "recall" it being a steep hill and then find out it is 2 degrees.
