I've also seen them used as additional restraints for the soft top: snap in place on frame, then loop around the hooks to help gather up more of the soft top material.
My owner's manual mentions neither of these uses (maybe newer ones do?).
It was a $75 option when I ordered my Gladiator in late April. Worth it for me. I may have had second thoughts at $150, but may have got it anyway. For a while it wasn't an option at all, I think they had a supply problem.
Happy to report back that I just picked up my soft top window storage bag from the dealer today, 6 months after it was supposed to arrive with the Gladiator! After the dealer tried to give me the wrong bag 3 times, I'm now convinced they exist. I'll attach a few pix as evidence. Standard stapler...
Thank you very much for going "up the chain of command" with this! I gave up at the dealer level. It's nice to have real confirmation from Jeep. Hopefully they'll update the manuals accordingly (including some description of those mysterious elastic straps, which I think we've determined also...
According to owner's manual, that one will turn the dome lights completely off (whether doors are open or not) when turned all the way down to the bottom. Also from the owner's manual: "With the parking lights or headlights on, rotating the right dimmer control upward will increase the...
Correct, no top on. I have a soft top only, and will try the cover again once I've put it on ... not sure when that will be, trying to remain "naked" as long as possible before cold weather sets in.
I bought the same thing the original poster has (Mopar cover from Armor Auto). Seems fine to me. With my hinge-mounted mirrors, you can leave them as-is and get 99.9% coverage or take the 0.003 seconds to simply push them in and get the 100% coverage (no tools required). Photos of each option...
Sport S with max tow package, soft top (top removed, in garage with doors, rear window, and quarter panels). Looks a lot like the first one posted in this thread ... Bonus pic of badass gladiator helmet hitch plug, matching color of course .
This is the part number I got from my dealer who has ordered me one: 68396560AB
I called Mopar yesterday and asked them what this part number was for, and they said a bag for a 2020 Gladiator. I'm skeptical until I actually get the thing, but since both the dealer and Mopar told me it's for a...
I just called Mopar with the part number the dealer gave me and the guy I spoke to told me it’s a bag for model year 2020, which he says means it’s for the Gladiator. Of course, it will be interesting to see what my dealer gives me when it comes in (hopefully before I die), probably will try to...
Tell your dealer to look at pages 117-119 of the latest version of the full owner's manual. There are drawings of it there, and it's clearly Gladiator-specific (quarter panel straps, etc.). Also, when I ordered mine from the dealer, that bag was an option ($75) on the Jeep web site that you can...
Regarding the soft top window storage bag, answering a couple questions from an earlier post: (1) there are instructions on how to use it in the full owner's manual. (2) the part number is 68396560AB, according to my dealer, who had to order one for me since it didn't come with the vehicle like...
Great questions! There are 2 current threads that mostly answer your questions; for (1) see a thread titled “soft top back, rear window in, OK to drive that way?”. I started that thread for the same reasons as you. Check it out (bottom line: most folks, including my dealer, say it’s fine, but...
Progress! My dealer managed to track down a part number for the Gladiator soft top rear window storage bag: 68396560AB. You probably won't find this number on any websites yet, it's still too new, but at least your dealer should be able to use it to place an order for you.
That's the good news...
Thank you Kjm18 and 1STJ100 for the info! With that and a printout of some owner's manual pages I was able to convince my dealer that it's a different part from the Wrangler one (which I gave them back today -- to their credit, they're trying!). They are trying to track down a part number from...
I don't know the part number, sorry.
So, it still seems nobody has seen the elusive "soft top window storage bag" for the Gladiator. Does anyone have evidence that such a thing exists? The ones reported on this thread end up being for some other purpose, and we've had one report they're on...
Thank you for the video link. The video shows the Velcro straps being used, but some of us also got 2 mysterious elastic bands with snaps — those are the ones we’re curious about, as they aren’t mentioned in the owners manual (or in the video).
Have you had any luck yet? Have you rolled it up? I'm a little scared to do that, the side tabs don't bend that easily, and the owners manual says the window lays flat in the bag, so I've been laying mine flat between the 2 beach towels.
Does anyone have a photo of one I could show my dealer...
