Hello. I am moving to Germany because I am in the military. I have heard that you cannot have a metal bumper in Germany. Can anyone confirm this for me? I will be living off base.
Could you measure the space in the bed from the tail gate to the box for the tonneau? Trying to see if my bikes will fit with a tailgate cover.
Also, have you seen anyone use it with a Yakima overhaul hd rack?
I’m sure you could run a piece of metal under the plastic number to create some stability and then bolt it on but it think it would be cosmetic at best.
Thanks! Any chance you could place your bike in the bed with the front wheel over the tail gate?
I’m trying to figure out if I could put bikes in the back with the seat posts dropped and then move the back rail back to put kayaks on top.
Ideally, I would be able to put four bikes in the back...
Any of you out their with the Leitners Designs ACS have a soft top? If not, do you know if it would work? Second question, are any of you fitting bikes in the back by putting the front tire over the rail gate?
Can some one tell me why none of the after market builders haven’t built the hitch hole into the bumper? I understand that the license plate may get in the way but there are work arounds for that. Seems like building it into the bumper would improve departure angle as wouldn’t impact towing...
I’ve looks at that rack and it’s not the same. It’s shorter than the back revolver 4. Also it mounts on top of the rail and is raised so there would be a gap on both sides of the rail. I head they were working with Yakima to make tonneau kit to work with it but that was pre corona.
I liked the review. I have been very happy with. It was a great purchase. It’s also really easy to clean. I just hosed mine off and took a stiff brush to it and cleaned off all the dirt.
I think it also depends which bike you put on first. If you put the inside bike on first, it think it will minimize touching the tail gate because it will push the tire down when you put on the second bike.
Works great for two bikes. I actually bought two of these and run four bikes on it. The back side is a soft material. It shouldn’t scratch unless you have a bunch of dirt on there already. i run a bungee across the bike to keep them from moving around too much.
