Well, it depends on the trip. For overlanding, I try to carry Trip Length + 100 miles. Based on three trips so far (and lots of JKUR trips), I assume the Gladiator’s effective overland mileage range to be 250 miles.
So if we’re doing more than 150 miles between gas stations, I’ll carry extra...
And you're going to pay sticker for the Taco TRD Pro. Toyota dealers have always been a proud bunch. I was helping someone shop for a compact SUV recently and Toyota dealers were by far the worst to deal with. Very little off on RAV-4s. So she bought a CR-V for about $3k off sticker (and...
If this is a constant problem or worry for some folks, adding halogen aux lights doesn't sound like a bad idea. I can't imagine you'd get pulled over for running them in a snowstorm, even if they were technically illegal.
Crappy ones certainly are. And the stock JT halogen headlights are awful.
Here's what IIHS had to say about Jeep's halogen lights:
Low beams
On the straightaway, visibility was inadequate on both sides of the road. On curves, visibility was inadequate in all 4 tests.
The low beams never...
Halogen lights are more dangerous than LEDs under most conditions because they do not illuminate the road or potential hazards nearly as well.
So it's a trade-off, but halogens are not necessarily safer over the life of your ownership.
I do agree that the LEDs should have a heating element.
Benny, I have a couple questions. On your site it says the following.
"Winch capable for Wrangler JL only."
Does this mean it's somehow not winch-capable on the JT? That wouldn't make sense to me.
Also, you say "Not compatible with LED Fog Lamps."
Does this mean we just need to modify the...
I'd be surprised if most Line-X shops will accept a self-scraped bed for spraying. They're responsible for honoring the warranty, so they're probably going to want to do it "their way" before spraying.
Portable compressors are virtually as fast as OBA. Pop the hood, clamp it to the battery, and you're in business. I travel with lots of guys with OBA and I'm maybe two minutes behind them when we air up. Plus, you can take your portable compressor to your new rig! I've had my Viair for 9...
Lots more Rhino dealers, but Line-X is generally regarded as being a better (if more expensive) product. Good luck finding a Bullet Liner dealer. I emailed a couple and got zero response. IRL, it will almost certainly come down to Rhino vs. Line-X. Lots of info about them both on the various...
