Thanks for the reply. I thought about removing the hooks, but I kind of like them. There are brackets that could work, so maybe if I get desperate enough I might try that. I do not want to remove the bumper again if I can help it, it was kind of a pain to install.

As I'm going through a similar issue I would very much suggest you get your insurance involved asap. They will handle all issues with the other party and their insurance. Make your intentions known you want diminished value so they know up front. If you want a link to a place that can get that...

Thanks, I actually thought of this one I replied to you yesterday. My insurance company told me to wait till the repairs are completed, before asking for values. This way they can be more complete. It's looking like it's going to be a while before any of this is resolved through the insurance...

HA so I asked the body shop to replace my "steel" bumper, they told me it wasn't available and they couldn't get any of the steel bumper parts. I really wanted to have it back ....

So here is an update to the accident. From what my insurance is saying the police report says the accident occurred because the other party ran the red light. So that is some good news, now I hope her insurance actually pays and I can get some reimbursement on my deductible and possible loss...

Got the quote on Friday, $6k to fix initially. I'm sure it will be more once it's done. My main issue for the repair is the frame has to be moved back into place where the bumper attaches and the hood panel gaps are all off. I'm sure they will do a good job, but you never know what could come up...
