Success today! I decided to go for it and loosen all the other bolts on the tank, but before I did it, I used a ratchet strap going under the existing skid plate from one frame rail to the other to hold up the tank. As I cranked the strap tight, the one bolt hole where I took the bolt out...
I'd appreciate if anyone with any experience with the fuel skidplate could provide some advice... or recommend a shop in the Northern Virginia area.
I purchased the aluminum engine, transfer case, and fuel tank skip plates from Quadratec, and installed the engine/trans and transfer case...
I spent the morning cleaning up my shed, and need to make room, so I cut the price in half. These are for pickup in the Loudoun County/Western Fairfax area.
I did the opposite of you last year - I have an Overland, and swapped my Overland wheels and tires for Mojave wheels and tires. I changed the tires by myself and discovered that the Mojave wheels and Wildpeak tires are significantly heavier than the Overland wheels/tires. The Wildpeaks are on...
GONE! That was fast! As a bonus, my neighbor sold their couch and the buyer offered me twenty bucks to deliver it about a half mile away, so I got to use the Gladiator as a pickup, which is nice...
It's yard sale day in the neighborhood, so they are out front with a "free" sign on them - let...
Now that it is going to be repaired, you should look into filing a "diminished value" claim with the insurance company. No matter how well it is repaired, the Gladiator's trade-in or resale value is going to be reduced because it was in an accident.
I am not sure how it works in Canada, but...
I was confused how to register as well. If you go to the owner's dashboard:
https://www.mopar.com/jeep/en-us/my-vehicle/dashboard.html
There is a box towards the bottom with a link to the free 6 month trial. When you click on the link from the Jeep owner's page, it takes you to the onX page...
I'm not sure when they added this, but if you go to your Jeep Owners page dashboard, there is a box near the bottom stating that all Jeep owners get a free six-month subscription to "onX Offroad Elite" app. which normally costs $99/year (at least the android version). I have android, and...
So I have a noob question: I always hear people say that you shouldn't go on a trail alone. Does this mean you should have at least two vehicles, or two people IN the vehicle? For what's it's worth, I am thinking about Peter's Mill Run, not something super technical. Unfortunately, I am...
Sorry I missed it today, but I have a question for Peter's Mill veterans: Is it better to start on the north end of the trail and go south, or the south end and go north?
thank you! Would Mojave wheels still fit even though they have a different offset? I am the opposite of an expert on wheels, so I don't fully understand how that impacts things, other than making tires stick out a little more or less. I appreciate the help!
I have an Overland, but would like to switch to a 17 wheel/tire combo. I was thinking of getting some take-offs from the member marketplace, but I am not sure if Rubicon/Mojave/Willys wheels will fit on the Overland - is there a difference in offset that would create problems?
Sadly I ran out of time this summer to try it. Definitely runs the risk of being a "hold my beer" project, though! I might try to come up with something this winter, but I'll keep my eye out if someone on here figures it out!
I've searched through the website and can't find what I was thinking of doing, but if anyone has suggestions or can tell me why this is a terrible idea, please let me know: I would like to be able to drive to a destination (a trail or beach, many hours away) with the doors on, and then take off...
Yes, it would looks relatively easy to disassemble and swap out the parts. This video shows someone taking apart the grill to paint the inserts () , but the concept is the same to just replace them. I don't have pictures of my own, but I assume it would look like a black Overland front end...
