I wasn’t aware that there was an update now. Last I heard from Jeep they were still working on it. I’ll have to call my dealer and see if an update is available for me.
IMO the antenna has nothing to do with it. I've got the same issues and haven't touched the stock antenna. I am wondering at this point if it has something to do with how quickly you get setup and moving in the car.

This is happening to me as well. I usually leave the unit on Sirius and it sometimes just gets stuck. And will stay trying to connect to Sirius until it crashes and reboots. No audio when it happens.
