I know this thread is a bit old, but for people researching....
I have 105,000 miles on my 2020 base Gladiator Sport, Freedom top, no lift, no mods. 23mpg combined highway and town. No issues and would buy again without any reservations.
Mine just did it again. Backed out of my shop, and when I shifted out of reverse, it popped and reset clock. (Kept radio station presets)
First time it happened, I was in forward gear halfway down my driveway, so not sure if camera related.
Ordered 12/19, picked up 2/12. Already had N-fab steps a Weathertech mats waiting at home. Wife likes it so much that she is actually considering one in Gator Green as her next vehicle!
I took my 6% below invoice numbers to a small local dealer. Told them I would rather buy local than go out of state. They matched it, much to my surprise. You'll never know until you try.
A diode allows current flow in one direction only. Prevents backfeeding power where you don't want it.
A relay redirects current flow just like a switch, but instead of actuating it with your finger, it's done electrically.
Why not just use a relay instead of diodes? In the relaxed (unpowered) state, they power up with the backup lights. Flip the aux switch, relay energizes and puts power to them only (manually). Diodes commonly fail open. If the relay fails in either position, you still have lights.
I'm going to gamble that the JL setup will work on the JT. Still at least a month away from getting mine but planning on trying when it gets here.
Will pop the panels and take a peak at the guts before ordering.
304,000 miles on my 2001 Z71, and the wife insisting on a "new" truck, so she doesn't worry about me on the road. This will be the second time I've bought a new vehicle for myself. First was a 1987 Chevy S-10. Currently have a 2000 TJ that will get sold as well.
Sure hope to get 20 years out of...
5% below invoice (not MSRP) is the norm. Can get up to 7% with added incentives. Saw one person claiming he could work a deal for 9%, but nobody can verify that.
My use would be more of a daily driver to work. I do tow a tractor or other vehicle on occasion but used Chevy 2500's are so cheap, it's not an issue.
From what I've read, the MT is fine for that and probably better than the 5 speed TJ I'm driving now.
