When I took mine in, it took one day and it was done. Most of that time was because they had a log jam of vehicles to service because of COVID. Seems to have resolved the issue for me, but I'm not getting to drive the truck as much as I would like since we can't go anywhere :)
Hey everyone, so sorry I never responded to this. I basically did the same thing @NC_Overland did and it worked great. I never took pictures, unfortunately, but it works just fine transporting this.
Thanks for the reply. I must have missed that. I actually pulled out my manual and went through it, albeit with a young child asking me questions while trying to find the answer. I need to just go through that thing as nightly reading... you're right about these things being complicated...
I posted this and reply to another thread, but then I realized it was for the JL for him via the JT form… Didn’t know that was a thing.
Anyway, I took the doors off my gladiator yesterday. Apparently a slightly bent one of the prongs on the doors and got the notice that my blind spot warning...
I’ve been busy so I haven’t reported back... Just the other day, it warmed up enough that I took the top completely off. The weather was somewhere between 65-70, and it was easy taking everything apart. Thank goodness!
Also, I read in another thread how easy it is to take the soft top...
Helped my brother in law haul a dresser and then a bed frame and mattress box. Had the top down and got to understand / see why the soft top only goes back and rests on top (I did later fully remove the soft top because I prefer that look. Only take about 2 minutes to pop those two bolts off and...
Mine did the same thing today. Was very frustrating. I pulled over, powered down and the restarted. That didn’t work. I popped the hood and checked fuses, all were right and good so I shut down and started up again... no sound.
Read in a JL forum to try selecting AM radio... that worked...
I haven't yet taken the back window out, but I was starting to this morning... holy cow, it's just as hard to undo. I decided not to bother with it right now because I didn't have time to mess with getting it back in, should I be able to take it apart right now.
Any suggestions from other folks...
Just installed mine tonight and had the same issue on the sides and I also experienced it with the bottom flap.
It was windy and in the 40s here. I got my heat gun out and safely warmed up the sides and bottom. That worked. It still took a ton of effort. I’m optimistic that when I get to let it...
Installed my soft top today. Install was pretty easy. The material needs to break in a little but I’m super excited about this as the weather is getting better here.
That's my plan is to use a moving blanket in addition to the rubber pads. I'll just strap it down good, cover/cushion anywhere the top touches the truck... and drive carefully :).
I'll let you know how it goes.
These look good.
Regarding the temperature, hit head has a video on their website for cold weather install. That’s what I did last Thanksgiving. Basically turn your heater on high and let it sit that way for 10-20 minutes (can’t remember it exactly). Then you’re good to go.
