Yes, I took them off and taped them (not sure if necessary). Was easy. I sprayed really light coats, just like spraying emblems or spray painting. It dries quickly. I did it all in an evening and next morning. I think it took about 3-4 total cans. Hope that this helps!

Photos are hard to tell. I think it was cool that with lots of light coats, it even kept the subtle pattern that you see in the original untouched white top

Forgot, the cheapest thing that I have done and but thought made the biggest impact, second to the performance mods (exhaust and CAI) is Plasti-dipping the headliner!! I can't believe that Jeep charges 2k for color-coded hard-top, then leaves the underside unpainted white for every exterior...
