Well I have a sahara so I believe the gears are 3.45. That will of course make a difference. I have noticed 8th is much easier to come by now with the new tune.
I orded one for my JL and it's supposed to be here today. I purchased an unlocked PCM as well. The whole process took about 2 weeks. There is some back and forth through email and phone to get the cloning process done. It's not a simple plug and play but not hard either. Although the whole...
I take no offense to being a mall crawler, I own it. Even thought about getting MLCRWLR as a license plate. To me its like someone calling me a 'cracker', is that the best you got?
I have heard the same thing. I was going to do E85 on a forged LS3 build with a D1X. I am sure it would have been fine for the 500 miles a year i would use it for.
But there is very little information on what happens after 300k miles on E85. Here and there I see a post from a Chrysler or...
Yes, i believe if the price difference is greater than 20% there is a benefit. Around here E85 is $2.00/gal and 93 is over $3.00.
Going from 87 to E85 probably would cost you money.
Not completely sold on engine longevity with E85 though. Its hard to find any information on long running...
They do unlock the PCM. You can also buy a new PCM from them for another $300. Then you are able swap in your OEM for dealer visits.
The 93 octane tune is a 35-40hp gain if you do not want E85. When I did a calculation between E85 and 93 in my area I would save about $200 a year.
I do notice more noise now that Its warm enough to take the top down. I also get quite a few jeeps staring at it.
I guess the factory option does NOT include the hood cut. A member on the JL forum got the option and the vent kit was in the trunk.
A lot of people take just the front doors off. Personally that's how I run most of the time. If the window switches were on the door you could not roll the rear windows down.
I have dual tops so wanted a platform for soft and hardtop storage. Vendor kits were way too expensive so I built my own electric hoist for around $225.00. My ceilings are 10.5'.
Damn, his car is fucked. My DD is big, heavy and old. People always try and weasel there way in front of me in a lane merger. Had some guy in a new mercedes try it recently, came flying up next to me but there was no room. He thought i would slow down and let him in. There was zero traffic...
For those interested I finally cut the hood vent in recently. My video is the one listed earlier so this is part 2. I guess these are now a $495 option from the factory. Well worth it if your interested. Cutting this in was not hard but I was shitting my pants.
I have seen many before and after dynos including my own cars with a CAI. On average they give about 10rwhp. Not a lot and you will never notice that driving but they certainly work. My reasons for doing this were mostly looks and possibly help with engine temps.
People on here spend...
I cut mine yesterday. I have done a lot of mods on cars, including rebuilding a top end and installing a 9" rear on my Trans am. I was more stressed about doing this by far. Pay the $495 to the factory if you can.
Turned out great though and i think it looks sick.
